The red carpet was full of bright colors at the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night, but yellow was the most popular. "Modern Family" star Julie Bowen, winner of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, looked oustanding in a strapless canary yellow gown.

"Homeland" winner Claire Danes, who is several months pregnant, also opted for a strapless yellow dress that was (obviously) more loose fitting than Julie's.

"Game Change" winner Julianne Moore picked a more conservative yellow gown with long sleeves, a higher neckline and a billowing skirt.

With ‘Fees and Commissions,’ ‘Mad Men’ did what it does best: Telling a melancholy – no, tragic – story quite matter-of-factly. It was shocking even though we all probably saw a lot of it coming. It was both sympathetic and heartless, and it showed how television can juxtapose images and storylines to masterful effect.

Is it just me, or is ‘Christmas Waltz’ one of the weakest ‘Mad Men’ episodes all season? It’s not because of the characters featured (Harry, Joan and Lane, primarily). I think it’s because one gets the sense that this episode is moving the show along toward the season finale, but as a dramatic arc in itself, it falls flat.

Sally Draper is perhaps the most mature person in many of her scenes in ‘Mad Men,’ even though she’s just a kid. There’s a lot going on behind those eyes, never more so than in ‘At the Codfish Ball.’ Sally is thrown into extremely adult situations, yet she remains composed. She appropriately calls everything she’s experienced in the city “dirty.”

Here are two words I never thought would go together on ‘Mad Men’: Fat Betty. Unseen in the season premiere, Betty has indeed plumped up. She’s clearly upset about it and doesn’t seem to know what to do with herself. Her mother unhelpfully suggests she try diet pills, while her doctor at first tells her that sudden weight gain is a common problem for bored housewives. What a simple explanation.

"Mad Men" star Jessica Pare's rendition of Gillian Hills' 1960s tune "Zou Bisou Bisou" has shot to the top of iTunes' download list after the actress performed the French pop tune on the season premiere of the hit drama on Sunday.

Pare performed the tune in character as Megan Draper at a birthday party and her version of the song, which Sophia Loren performed in "The Millionairess," was one of the most in-demand downloads on Monday.

A limited edition seven-inch single of the recording is available to fans of the show via the Mad Men website.

After shrouds of secrecy and an agonizing 17-month wait, ‘Mad Men’ returned to the airwaves on Sunday with an episode titled ‘A Little Kiss.’ And it was worth the wait for fans to pucker up.
