Actress Renee O'Connor -- best known for playing the role of Gabrielle on the TV series Xena: Warrior Princess -- was born on Feb. 15, 1971, in Houston, Texas.

Renee began her career in her teens, starring in a few commercials before landing a small role opposite Jason Priestley in 1989's Disney Channel drama "Teen Angel," which premiered during "The All New Mickey Mouse Club."

She also played a few bit parts on shows like FBI: The Untold Stories and NYPD Blue; but her role in 1994's "Hercules and the Lost Kingdom," a made-for-TV movie starring Kevin Sorbo, got her noticed by executive producers Sam Raimi and Robert G. Tapert.

The two execs cast her in their Hercules spinoff Xena: Warrior Princess as the title character's (Lucy Lawless) sidekick. The show ran for six seasons and O'Connor started her own film production company, called ROC Pictures, after the series wrapped.

While living in Auckland, New Zealand, to film the series, O'Connor met and married Steve Muir, a local restaurant owner. The couple wed in her native Texas in the fall of 2000, and she gave birth to a son in 2001. When the show ended the family moved back to Texas, and in 2005 she and Muir divorced. O'Connor then moved on with actor Jed Sura and gave birth to the couple's daughter in 2006.
