And there were ten.

It seems kind of strange to say that, right? Ten Best Picture nominees? We knew it was coming for nearly a year, but now it's actually there. In Black and white. Ten nominees. Strange.

After seeing the list, it's easy to see that the Academy might be on to something. Sure, it would have gotten the biggest blockbuster of all time with "Avatar" earning a Best Picture nomination if there were only five nominees, but it would have missed out on other massive hits like "The Blind Side", "Up", and "District 9".

Julianne Moore is still struggling to cope with her mother's sudden death last year - because the actress wanted to be by her side when she passed away.

Moore's Scottish mom, Ann Love Smith, fell ill at the end of April and died just hours later, while the star was on her way to visit her.

And The Hours actress, 49, will always regret not being there when her mother passed away.

She says, "My mother got sick and then she died the next morning. I was on a plane on my way there when she passed away. She was only 68, it's been really tremendously difficult."

'Up In The Air,' 'Nine' Lead Golden Globe Nominations

The 67th annual Golden Globe nominations were just announced in Beverly Hills, Calif., by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

"Up in the Air" leads the pack with six mentions, including best picture, drama. The musical "Nine" ran second with five nominations, including best musical or comedy and acting slots for Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard.

The Golden Globes, Hollywood's second-biggest film honors after the Oscars, will be presented Jan. 17 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, televised live by NBC and hosted by comic actor Ricky Gervais.
