82nd Oscar Nomination Reaction: The Snubs, Surprises & Who Shouldn't Have Been Nominated
And there were ten.
It seems kind of strange to say that, right? Ten Best Picture nominees? We knew it was coming for nearly a year, but now it's actually there. In Black and white. Ten nominees. Strange.
After seeing the list, it's easy to see that the Academy might be on to something. Sure, it would have gotten the biggest blockbuster of all time with "Avatar" earning a Best Picture nomination if there were only five nominees, but it would have missed out on other massive hits like "The Blind Side", "Up", and "District 9".
Now, the telecast is going to get a lot more casual...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Saw VI,' 'Vampire's Assistant' & More
Last Tuesday, I had a chance to see "Where the Wild Things Are." Visually the film is stunning; it integrates handheld camera shots in the appropriate moments to take viewers into the action. Jim Henson's Creature Shop makes the monsters of the movie look incredibly convincing, and the composite animation of their faces matches up well.

Celebrities Who Get Naked On Screen: A Thin Line Between Classy & Trashy
Hollywood royalty used to use body doubles for filming sex scenes in their films; the thought of them baring it all was almost a joke. But as sex and nudity have taken a more artsy approach on screen, celebrities are jumping at the chance to take their careers to a more risqué level...
Yet, baring it all in films is a very touchy subject with actors. This is a topic young Hollywood and wannabe actors can't seem to grasp. If you are an established actor and nudity is done in good taste, it's viewed by most people as classy. But if you're just starting out, you don't want to be known as t...

Race Matters: Is Hollywood Truly Color Blind When It Comes To On-Screen Romance?
In John Grisham's bestselling novel "The Pelican Brief," investigative journalist Gray Grantham and law student Darby Shaw uncover a political conspiracy and in the process, end up between the sheets. In the 1993 film version, Darby Shaw (played by Julia Roberts) and Grantham merely share a chaste hug in the film's conclusion. What happened between page and screen? One theory: In the novel Grantham is white; in the film, he's portrayed by Academy-Award winning - and black - actor Denzel Washington.
