Helen Mirren may not have been a fan of the noise a gay rights group was making outside the theater she was performing in, but she supports their message.

On Saturday, Mirren screamed at a group of drummers promoting the As One In The Park gay rights festival for making a ruckus outside the theater she was performing "The Audience" in. This morning, Mirren stepped out of her home wearing a custom t-shirt emblazoned with the event's name, venue and date in large black letters.

Mirren was performing in the play "The Audience" at the Gielgud Theatre when she was interrupted by the sound of 25 drummers outside. The actress stormed out the doors and confronted the loud band's leader, cussing and asking them to "shut the f--- up."

The star is slated to provide the "inner voice" of one of the characters, reports TVLine.com.

A source tells the website, "Helen came in and secretly recorded several long and hilarious monologues two weeks ago. Then she visited the kids on set, and they had no idea she was coming; they were stunned. Helen's a big fan of the show and the message it sends out about arts education."
