Birth Name: Sofia Milos

Sofia Milos was born September 27, 1969, in Zurich, Switzerland, to an Italian father and a Greek mother. She was raised in Rome, Italy.

Best known for her role as Yelina Salas on CSI Miami, Sofia's career began in beauty pageants before settling on acting. She studied the craft and honed her skills at the Beverly Hills Playhouse in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Her first big role came in 1997, as the recurring character Julia Mazzone Karinsky on NBC's "Caroline In The City." She starred in 20 episodes before moving on to "The Secret Lives Of Men." Sofia also guest starred on such series as The Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

She starred alongside Jason Isaacs in 2002's Passionada, which she credits as being her favorite role on her official site.

Beginning in 2003, Sofia appeared as a recurring character on "CSI Miami" before becoming a series regular in the show's third season. Her character's storyline didn't appear in the fourth season of the show, but Sofia returned as a guest for the following three seasons. She hasn't appeared on the show since.

Sofia speaks six languages: she's fluent in English, Italian, French, and German and knows enough Greek and Spanish to carry on a conversation. She enjoys painting, cooking, reading and spiritual study, according to her official website. -CJ
