American actress Tammy Lynn Michaels was born Tammy Doring on November 26, 1974, in Lafayette, Indiana. Raised by a single mother, Tammy moved to Los Angeles and was working at a restaurant when a talent scout spotted her, and she landed the role as Nicole Julian on "Popular." After "Popular," she had the role of Lacey on Showtime's "The L Word" and of Tess on the NBC series "Committed," and she also had a small part in the film "D.E.B.S." On Sept. 22, 2003, Tammy had a commitment ceremony with singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge. When she's not working, Tammy enjoys reading, writing, oil painting, shopping, roller blading and playing basketball and softball.
