"Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer believes critics trashed her sci-fi film "The Host" to "punish" her for inflicting the teen vampire series on the world.

"The Host," which the author wrote after the massively successful "Twilight" books, was turned into a movie starring Saoirse Ronan. Meyer was also a producer. Compared to "Twilight," the film was a bomb. It made just $48 million internationally compared to the $393 million the first vampire film earned in 2008.

With Breaking Dawn: Part II, the Twilight movie saga comes to an end, and makes its last appearance at San Diego Comic-Con. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and author Stephenie Meyer are in San Diego greeting the fans, camped out in tents, for one last time.

At a press conference before their Comic-Con panel, the trio addressed the possibility of a reboot, should a new group of filmmakers decide to film the books again. Pattinson dared someone to do it.

Max Irons has landed the leading role in "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer's upcoming film adaptation of "The Host."

The 26-year-old son of veteran Jeremy Irons has beat out Miley Cyrus' boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and "Game of Thrones" star Kit Harington for the part.

Irons will play Saoirse Ronan's boyfriend, Jared, who falls in love with both her free spirit character Melanie and the alien who takes control of her soul, Wanderer in the new movie.

The woman behind the "Twilight" saga has landed a cameo in the film franchise's penultimate movie.

Author Stephenie Meyer, who appeared briefly in the first Twilight film, will have another blink-and-you'll-miss-her scene in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 when it hits cinemas later this year.
