Hefner, 84, proposed to 24-year-old Crystal Harris on Christmas Day, and Playboy Playmate-turned reality TV star Marquadt has been among the first to send the couple a gift.

The publisher took to Twitter.com and told followers, "Crystal and I received a sweet note of congratulations on our engagement from Bridget Marquardt with a box of Sprinkles 'I Do' cupcakes."

Playboy boss Hugh Hefner got engaged to his girlfriend Crystal Harris over the weekend.

After tweeting that he had given the Playmate a ring on Christmas Eve after the couple watched a movie, Hefner clarified that the gift was indeed an engagement ring.

"Yes, the ring I gave Crystal is an engagement ring. I didn't mean to make a mystery out of it. A very merry Christmas to all," he tweeted.

The Hollywood sign has been saved - thanks to Playboy magazine boss Hugh Hefner. The tycoon has offered $900,000 to preserve the land to the west of the famous Los Angeles landmark.
