American television/film actress Kate Mara was born on February 27, 1983, and grew up in Bedford, New York. Kate made her television debut in 1997 in "Law & Order" and made her film debut in 1999, at the age of fourteen, in the film "Random Hearts." She has had reoccurring parts on the TV shows "24" and "Nip/Tuck," and her movie credits include "Brokeback Mountain," "The Californians" and "We Are Marshall." Kate is the granddaughter of the late New York Giants owner Wellington Mara.
