Interview: 'Kelly & Cal' Actress Juliette Lewis Dissects Directors For Us

9/19/2014 3:15pm EDT
Kelly & Cal
In the realm of creating memorable performances under the watchful eye of equally great directors, nobody has done more work of note then actress Juliette Lewis. A talented gal who earned her first Oscar nomination under the direction of Martin Scorsese for "Cape Fear" in her late teens, Lewis then went on to work on some of the most acclaimed films and with the most esteemed filmmakers Hollywood has to offer. Her latest film "Kelly & Cal" (in theaters Sept. 19 from IFC Films) sees Lewis continuing to add to her cache of layered performances by playing Kelly, a former punk rocker turned s...

Fashion Fails: Meryl Streep, Rachel Wilde, Juliette Lewis, More

1/26/2014 3:03pm EST
Meryl Streep
It's Fashion Fail Time! That means we take a break from letting you know how good all of your favorite stars look to show the other side of fashion: the fails!

As awards season heats up, so do the chances of people failing spectacularly on the red carpet. We Love Meryl Streep, but we hate the black, shapeless gown she wore to the SAG Awards.

Rachel Wilde must have known that having a waist-high split in the middle of her gown would lead to shots like this. Even if that was fixed, we're not fans of the color or the too-big sleeves.

It seems Juliette Lewis is rubbing it in that it'...

Fashion Fails: Adam Lambert, Paula Abdul, Kristen Bell, More

Adam Lambert
It's Fashion Fail Time! That means we take a break from letting you know how good all of your favorite stars look to show the other side of fashion: the fails!

Adam Lambert's suit could be trying to show cherry blossoms on a cloudy day, but from here it just looks gross. Plus, he buttoned up and didn't wear a tie.

This looks like something Paula Abdul would wear early in her career, because it was the late 80s and this would be considered fashionable. Thankfully, we don't consider this a good look nowadays.

We still hate animal prints and Samantha Ronson has some yellow zebra str...

10 Celebrities You May Not Know Are Scientologists

7/8/2012 1:00pm EDT
Sofia Milos
It's widely known that Tom Cruise, John Travolta, his wife Kelly Preston and Kirstie Alley are scientologists. Cruise is going through a very public divorce with actress Katie Holmes, and it is allegedly due to his ties with the religion.

Twelve years ago, Travolta made the film "Battlefield Earth," a film adapted from the novel by Ron L. Hubbard, the founder of Scientology.

In 2010 on Larry King Live, Alley said her religion helped her with weight loss, considering she'd only been fat three or four years of her life. "God knows where I'd be if I hadn't changed the things I have changed,"...

'The Firm' Recap: 'Chapter Eight' (1.08)

2/26/2012 1:05am EST
The Firm
The Firm hit a rough patch in its first Saturday outing. It feels less disjointed this time out, but it's still missing that something that held my attention when it began.

The cops cut Mitch loose, while Ray, Abby and Andrew (yep, Shaun Majumder's back this week!) worry over him. The crazy turn of events prompts Mitch to confide in Andrew, because he doesn't yet know what Andrew's up to, which means he has no problem telling Andrew everything about the Sarah Holt case. Of course, this information finds its way back to Alex Clark shortly thereafter. She decides it's time to "bring ...

'The Firm' Recap: 'Chapter Seven' (1.07)

2/19/2012 12:59am EST
The Firm
If you're reading this, you know that The Firm has been bounced to Saturday nights, and therefore probably doesn't have much time left on the air. It's an unfortunate coincidence that its first episode post-the bad news feels like the fight's going out of the show.

Mitch is being interrogated about Martin's death by a stereotypical blustery cop, who seems completely incompetent to handle the investigation. Mitch points out that the hotel room door was obviously kicked in, which he didn't do, and yet the cop is happy to put that aside and continue to treat Mitch as if he's already ...

'The Firm' Recap: 'Chapter Six' (1.06)

2/3/2012 2:01am EST
The Firm
This week's sixth installment of The Firm belongs to its guest star, but also reveals some important pieces of the puzzle, so it's a necessary stepping stone to bigger things.

Confined to an interrogation room at the local police precinct, now the sole suspect in Martin's death, Mitch is glaring a hole in the one-way mirror, while one of Martin's colleagues lays it on thick for the cops. Our favorite lawyer is pretty much like a caged animal.

Two weeks earlier, not noticing there's the mob henchman outside his house, Mitch is getting his first look at the list of nurses that Mar...

Juliette Lewis Planning Her Music Career Around 'The Firm'

2/2/2012 2:18pm EST
Juliette Lewis
Singer/actress Juliette Lewis has no plans to give up touring if her new TV series The Firm takes off - she's planning to stage concerts during filming breaks.

Lewis has a recurring role in the drama, which is set 10 years after the 1991 John Grisham novel of the same name and its subsequent film adaptation.

The star hopes viewers react positively to the show and TV bosses commission a second season - and she's already planning how to juggle her music career around filming commitments.

Lewis tells Postmedia News, "I'll figure it out! I will never be able to be out on the road for a ye...

'The Firm' Recap: 'Chapter Four' (1.04)

1/20/2012 3:06am EST
The Firm
After a strong start, The Firm's fourth chapter wavers - but that also serves to reinforce what makes this show tick and why the series should stick to its guns.

We start forward again, with Mitch having gotten off the phone with Andrew, and meeting his family at the dock. He tells them that Martin is dead and explains what we've been seeing for the past three weeks. "I can't know what we're into until I know what this is about," he says, and heads off to find Andrew at the same time that the cops want to talk to him.

There's finally a title sequence this week, and it's pretty n...

'The Firm' Recap: 'Chapter Three' (1.03)

1/13/2012 2:25am EST
The Firm
After Sunday's thorough two-hour premiere, The Firm arrives on its regular date and time with another piece that sheds more light on its heroes. Satisfaction from it likely depends on what element you were watching for. It was light on the conspiracy, but strong on character, which the show has already proven is its strong suit.

In case you missed it last time, we get another look at Martin committing suicide off the hotel balcony. Now we also get to see Mitch making a very narrow escape from said hotel room, taking more than one painful leap of his own. Unfortunately, the quick ...

'The Firm' Recap: 'Pilot/Chapter One' (1.01/1.02)

1/9/2012 2:07am EST
The Firm
The story of The Firm began in a novel 20 years ago, then was adapted into a film, and now it has arrived on NBC as a weekly series. Considered on its own merits, the TV program stands as an intriguing series that is not simply a conspiracy play.

It's ten years after the events of the previous incarnations (so 2003), and Mitch McDeere (Josh Lucas of Sweet Home Alabama and Glory Road) is running from a trio of thugs in broad daylight in Washington, D.C. He calls his wife Abby (Human Target guest star Molly Parker) from a pay phone, saying, "They could be's happening again...

Juliette Lewis' Bold Sequined Pants - Hot Or Not?

2/26/2011 12:00pm EST
Juliette Lewis
Juliette Lewis showed up in sequined pants at the Shockwaves NME Awards earlier this week. What do you think of her hodgepodge look?

The NME Awards took place in London on Wednesday, and two American favorites didn't fare so well. Justin Bieber was named Least Stylish and his "My World 2.0" landed the Worst Album dishonor; the Worst Band award went to the Jonas Brothers. Ouch.

However, New Jersey natives My Chemical Romance claimed Best International Band and Best Video for "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)."
