'Beauty and the Beast' Interview with Kristen Kreuk and Jay Ryan

October 27th, 2013 10:44pm EDT
Beauty and the Beast
During New York Comic Con, I interviewed stars Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and executive producers/co-creators Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper.

If you never watched Ron Koslow’s original 1980s series on CBS (which I did) and you didn’t catch recent episodes, CW’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ surrounds fiercely loyal detective Catherine Chandler (Kreuk) who falls in love with ‘beastly’ former soldier Vincent Keller (Ryan). Having willingly undergone a super soldier experiment (led by Catherine’s mother and her employer, Muirfield), Vincent escapes when it goes south. Yea...

Fashion Fail: Those Poor Cheetahs

March 10th, 2013 3:07pm EDT
Cee-Lo Green
It's Fashion Fail Time! That means we take a break from letting you know how good all of your favorite stars look to show the other side of fashion: the fails! This week we have quite a collection of animals prints to gawk at; we just hope no real animals were harmed to make this disastrous fashion.

Cee Lo Green starts us off with his hoodie. Honestly, this could be leopard print. Heck if I know. Does it really matter?

Yvette Nicole Brown tries on his huge amount of fabric, letting it just wrinkle and fold over everywhere.

Zoe Hardman ups the ante with an entire dress with the pa...

Beauty and the Beast
The CW's Beauty and the Beast is shining the spotlight on its two romantic relationships in tonight's all-new episode, "Tough Love."

When Catherine's (Kristin Kreuk) sister starts asking questions about Vincent (Jay Ryan), Catherine agrees to Heather's (Nicole Gale Anderson) suggestion that she invite him over for dinner, hoping that it will ease the tension. But the awkward get-together only makes things worse, especially when there's unexpected company at the dinner table.

Things also get complicated for Catherine's partner Tess (Nina Lisandrello) and her boss Joe (Brian J. White) when ...

Fashion Fails: Award Season Begins - Fails At People's Choice

January 11th, 2013 3:06pm EST
Olivia Munn
It's Fashion Fail Time! That means we take a break from letting you know how good all of your favorite stars look to show the other side of fashion: the fails! Today we have a selection from the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards.

Olivia Munn wore this frumpy, unflattering dress to the awards show - and she was presenting an award, so you would figure she'd try to look dazzling as usual.

We love the lower half of Kristin Kreuk's gown, but the top is just nasty.

Ellen Pompeo wore this gown with a championship belt.

Morena Baccarin wore this overly-long pantsuit and stud...

Celebrities That Turn 30 in 2012
It's hard to believe for many of us the 1982 was 30 years ago. In that year, Ronald Reagan was President, Joe Montana was the Superbowl XVI MVP and the space shuttle Columbia made its first mission.

In movies, E.T., Tootsie and Gandhi ruled the box office while Chariots of Fire took best picture at the Academy Awards that year. Also taking home Oscar gold for best actor and actress in 1982 respectively were Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda for On Golden Pond. In music Michael Jackson released Thriller which sold more than 25 million copies, becoming the biggest selling album in history.

'Smallville' Producers Talk About The Series Finale

May 13th, 2011 12:20pm EDT
Smallville Finale
After 10 years, Smallville is airing its final episode tonight on The CW. The two-hour finale will wrap up the journey of Clark Kent, so he can finally emerge as the Superman we know. Producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders reflected on their years in Smallville as the end of it all approached.

“It’s probably the theme that emerged this year, which is believe in heroes,” Souders said. “I think that has become incredibly important to us that we were able to work on a show that had such a positive message. The fact that we have such hardcore fans that have followed the show, I think that’...

'Smallville' Recap: 'Harvest'

October 31st, 2010 2:36pm EDT
Alexander
Lois and Clark are heading to the boonies to cover the “Cherry Festival” (really?) when they get a double blowout. Clark heads to the nearest town to get a new tire while Lois hangs back with Charlotte Cavanagh, a little farm girl straight out of “Little House on the Prairie.” But when Clark returns to the car with a fresh tire, Lois is nowhere to be seen.

Even weirder, as Clark puts the tire in the trunk, he cuts his suddenly not-indestructible hand. A local constable agrees to help Clark search for Lois, who is taking a horse-and-buggy carriage ride with Charlotte back to her Amish-looki...

Brainiac and Clark
Clark’s self-doubt lingers as the episode opens with a nice synergistic shot of some Time Warner magazines with superheroes on the covers. Lois pops by to remind Clark that their 5-year high school reunion is the next day and she does not want to miss it (never mind that she was enrolled in Smallville High for all of 23 days, five of which she actually attended). The on-hold status of their relationship notwithstanding, Clark agrees to go.

Back at Smallville High, a beleaguered guidance counselor looks back over a decade of dealing with meteor-rock malfeasants (in early seasons of SMALLV...

Cassidy Freeman
Cassidy Freeman had the unenviable task of replacing, perhaps, the most infamous supervillain of all time, Lex Luthor. Her character on Smallville, Tess Mercer, toes the line on what her true motivations and agendas are ... which, of course, adds to her appeal. Cassidy joined us to discuss the upcoming end to the Smallville season and she does her best to discuss an ending that, well, she is not allowed to discuss.

Mike: You're from Chicago, are you a Cubs fan?

Cassidy: I'm not a huge baseball fan in general so I support both [Chicago baseball teams] because I support Chicago.
