Musical theater is in her bones, so it’s no stretch for her to cut an album of cabaret as she does with 2010’s The Laziest Gal in Town -- yet this record’s blend of music, stories, and jokes can’t help but bring Maroney (who would kill for the chance to make a record like this) to mind. Credit Krakowski for creating such an indelible character, then credit her for managing to go beyond Jenna to deliver a record that’s a rollicking good time on her own terms. True, you have to be on her wavelength -- to get a chuckle from her Twitter send-up, to smile along with her Betty Boop-ish reading of &“Rubber Duckie” -- but if you are, The Laziest Gal in Town is knowing fun.
