Nicole Kidman is in talks to portray Hollywood legend Grace Kelly in a new movie about the actress who became a real-life princess.

The star is being courted for the lead in "Grace of Monaco," an independent film chronicling the European principality's 1962 clash with neighboring France over tax issues.

Olivier Dahan, who wowed Hollywood with his "La Vie en Rose" and helped Marion Cotillard win an Oscar for her portrayal of French singer Edith Piaf, is attached to direct.

An exhibition celebrating the life of Grace Kelly will open in New York City next month, 25 years after the actress' death.
