Singer Wynonna Judd is lucky to be alive after two summer health crises.

The Judds star underwent a scary procedure to repair the wall of her stomach and then suffered a near-fatal blood clot in her heart, which should have killed her.

She says, "I was in the studio two months later with blood clots in my lungs. 'I shouldn't be here,' they said and I said, 'Well, obviously there's a reason.'"

And then she was involved in a car crash when another motorist fell asleep at the wheel.

Celebrities have the reputation of being talented, gorgeous, rich and famous. But if they weren't stars, what would they be doing? Some never even finished high school and some were brought up in the theater, never knowing anything outside of the world of acting. However, there are a handful of stars who attended college and some even hold a degree, proving education is important to them as well. Here are a few of our favorite celebrities and their Alma Maters.

Actress Ashley Judd attended the University of Kentucky when she was younger but dropped out to pursue acting. Clearly, she exce...

Ashley Judd Took Advice Before Her Suicide Role

August 9th, 2010 2:00pm EDT
Ashley Judd
Actress Ashley Judd called on the experts who helped her battle depression before she accepted the role of a suicidal teacher in her new film Helen.

The Double Jeopardy star entered the Shades of Hope Treatment Center in Texas for depression and isolation issues in 2006 and is now "emotionally sober" thanks to the help and advice she received there. Judd feared that playing a depressed person on film would trigger her own past problems with the condition - but the doctors who gave her the help she needed at her lowest point insisted she'd be perfect as Helen.

She tells BlogTalkRadio.com...

Style Watch: Celebrities Fragrances Dominate The Market

August 4th, 2010 6:05am EDT
Celebrity Fragrances
Jennifer Aniston and Mary J. Blige recently joined the ongoing list of celebrities who launch their own personal fragrances. It seems you haven't really made it unless you make an attempt to market your scent in a bottle (or publish a book).

Celebrities have the power to create, or at least have someone else create, anything to promote their name and rake in more money. Clothing, shoes, bags, restaurants and perfumes are just a few ways celebrities brand themselves.

But who started the celebrity fragrance trend? It certainly wasn't Jennifer Lopez or Paris Hilton.

Elizabeth Taylor has lau...

Apparently the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel was the place to be on Saturday after the White House Correspondent's Dinner. It hosted many celebs such as Kim Kardashian, Ewan McGregor, Ashley Judd, and Dennis Quaid- who all partied until late into the night.

A few behind the scene tidbits from the evening:

- Kim Kardashian flew into D.C. with Ryan Seacrest just to do a last-minute interview. Without an outfit planned, she scrambled and borrowed her mother?s vintage Valentino black and white piece, ordered room service when she checked into the hotel, asked her twitter followers how they tho...

In a rare feat, I was able to catch two movies last week that came out in theaters: "The Lovely Bones" and "The Book of Eli." I didn't really care for "The Lovely Bones" however

I very much enjoyed "The Book of Eli." To get a more detailed look at my thoughts check out my reviews here on Starpulse.

This week features a bizarre mix of movies including the religious thriller "Legion," the silly family film "Tooth Fairy," the emotional drama "Extraordinary Measures," and the coming-of- age story "To Save a Life."

Women are enthralled by them. Men envy them. Young boys want to grow up and be like them. Who are we talking about? We're talking about male celebrities who have a large female fan base and phonebooks filled with the numbers of models and actresses. These male celebrities attract a lot of women because of their looks and celebrity status. If there was a Chick Magnet Hall of Fame, these guys would be the first ones inducted. Here's a list of male celebrities who attract more women than a yoga class:

Best Space Movies

June 12th, 2009 9:53am EDT
Moon
The subject of space is a difficult one in terms of selecting films. Qualifying elements are somewhat subjective. Does the film have to take place in space? Must it include aliens? Does a mere reference to space, or different planets, make it a "space" film? In short, is it merely a subgenre of science fiction? Space and science fiction, while not mutually exclusive, can occur without the other.

In celebration of the release of one of the newest and most promising space films, Moon, check out a brief list of our favorite space films. What you will find below is a mix of films t...
