1/31/2011 11:16pm EST
Susan Sarandon
Susan Sarandon had to phone in her appearance on Monday's Oprah Winfrey Show - because she couldn't get a flight to Chicago, Illinois from New York.

The actress was billed to appear live on Winfrey's sofa, alongside fellow Oscar winners Sissy Spacek and Holly Hunter, but had to scarp her plans due to the Big Apple's ongoing winter white-out snowstorm.

At the top of the show Winfrey explained, "Susan got up at four in the morning and tried to get here... but all flights were canceled."

The Dead Man Walking star joined the get together via satellite.

31 Days Of Horror: "The Burning" (1981)

The Burning (1981)
With horror movies it’s pretty easy to come up with some bullshit excuse as to why you’re subjecting yourself to what is typically, by almost every conceivable measure, a pretty repugnant piece of shit movie. The Friday the 13th series has an unreasonably fierce puritanical streak, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is about regional tension and the economic repercussions of automating farm labor, and every zombie movie ever is about how we’re the real monsters. 1981’s The Burning is about children getting stabbed to death with garden shears. Oh, and seeing some full frontal 80s girls. That’s it. ...

Holly Hunter Gets Engaged?

Holly Hunter has sparked speculation she's engaged to longterm partner Gordon MacDonald after sporting a ring on her wedding finger during a TV appearance.

The "Saving Grace" star has been dating the actor since 2001, and Hunter gave birth to the couple's twin boys in 2006. Now it seems MacDonald has proposed.

During an appearance on "The Late Late Show" on Thursday, Hunter flashed a sparkling band on her wedding finger - prompting host Craig Ferguson to ask, "Do you have some news?"

Hunter replied, "Well, you know" before Ferguson continued: "It's a bold statement right there."

5 Horror Remakes We'd Like To See

With "Sorority Row" hitting theatres today - a remake of the 1983 slasher classic - it truly seems as if every horror property of the last 30 years has been given a do-over.

From big names (Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers) to cult classics ("Prom Night," "The Hills Have Eyes," "The Last House on the Left"), horror remakes are big business.

But believe it or not, there are a few horror properties out there that haven't been touched, and more importantly, have the potential to be improved by being remade.

Best Celebrity Voice Acting Roles

Kung Fu Panda
Voice acting is a much more lucrative business than one might imagine, with the actors in question providing their voice for animated movies, video games, television shows, voice overs, and anything else that requires a voice but no face. Some actors do only that kind of work, giving themselves a certain amount of fame in that industry, such as "The Simpsons" cast.

Everything changed when voice acting became a business not only for unknowns, but also an attractive fad for celebrities who wanted to broaden their horizons ... or make a movie "for the kids." Now it seems that no animated...

Who Will & Who Should Win An Emmy

Ah, the Emmys, the most entertaining awards show and often the most frustrating. Why is it so frustrating? Because the voters get it wrong. They get the winners wrong more often than casual sports bettors. In fact, they get it so wrong that predicting the winners is often a fool's errand since it's impossible to determine what will strike the Academy's fancy as the reasons for their choices are as mystifying as the results.

Luckily, Starpulse.com has one such fool. So it's time for a round of everybody's favorite game: Who Will Win and Who Should Win?
