Review: 'Cars 2' 'Two Jews On Film' Celebrate Their 100th And Drive In Opposite Directions (Video)

June 23rd, 2011 10:12am EDT
Cars 2
By Joan Alperin Schwartz: 'Cars 2' is the new 3D wonder from director John Lasseter. John and his crew at Pixar have once again proven why they are the best at what they do.

To really enjoy this film, you have to put aside any ideas that cars can't talk, can't have friends and girlfriends, can't experience human emotions and can't be killer spies. (Something the other half of Two Jews On Film, John my husband, wasn't able to do).

Anyway, the story goes like this...Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is the snazzy, red, highly acclaimed racing car. After winning four Pisto...

Paul Newman Tribute Planned for 'Cars 2'

March 2nd, 2011 10:04pm EST
The Cars sequel will feature a touching tribute to late movie icon Paul Newman, who voiced the role of Doc Hudson in the 2006 original.

Newman's car character will not appear in the new movie, but Newman and Doc will be honored, according to director John Lasseter.

He tells the Los Angeles Times' 24 Frames blog, "We have a lovely tribute to Paul in the movie, but we didn't feel it would be right to include him or the character."

Newman's Hudson was a former champion racecar before a terrible accident ended its career. He became a doctor, life coach and elder of Radiator Springs - the for...

The Samantha Who? star, her husband Richard Gilliland and their teenage son Connor traveled to East Asia in May to bring home a 10-month-old baby girl.

And according to the proud mom, the toddler, who is now 18 months old, is already "smitten" with her 19-year-old brother.

Revealing her news on the Bonnie Hunt Show, Smart discussed the lengthy adoption process, joking, "We thought they (the siblings) were going to be closer in age when we first started this!"

"Weeds" star Mary Louise Parker fought back tears during a TV interview on Thursday when she recalled the first time her son met his adopted sister and welcomed the African girl with open arms.

The actress became mum to Ethiopian girl Caroline 'Ash' Aberash in 2007, a little sister for her biological son William, now five.

She admits she didn't really discuss the adoption with her child, whose father is actor Billy Crudup, until the legal documents had been approved and finalized. But the timing luckily coincided with her son's desire to have a younger sibling.

She said, "I waited ...

A Profile/Interview with Actor/Producer/Talk Show Host Ryan O'Connor

December 7th, 2008 12:13pm EST
Ryan O
Ryan O'Connor is a tough man to pin down. When I first approached O'Connor to do an exclusive one-on-one interview, it was for my "Break-Out Internet Star" piece, but his busy shooting schedule, coupled with awareness events around the election did not allow it. Still, I pursued onward because I knew I had to lock him down now, so I could say I "knew him when." And O'Connor was eager to chat and excited about his "first real piece of press," but as we got into the meat of what makes him and his show tick, I began to realize just how media savvy he must be because in rescheduling, he did no...

She explains, "There was a crack in the glass in the TV and I used to hope that the cartoons would get close enough that they might fall out. I would sit there with a cup because I wanted one of the little characters to go in there. I cleaned out one of my dresser...
