As a regular viewer of the original Hawaii Five-O, I was among those who dreaded a remake, but the majority of these twenty-four episodes made me eat my words. Unfortunately, the season finale of the new version is an unpleasant surprise: everything that this show has previously proven itself not to be.

The episode starts with two of our heroes getting what they thought they wanted: Danny has gotten cozy with ex-wife Rachel, and Chin Ho gets an offer to return to the Honolulu PD. There's got to be a catch, right? Well, there's a big one: the money stolen from the asset forfeiture...

Cougar Town premiered on ABC last week, shining the spotlight on a subject that has fascinated young men since the beginning of time. Courtney Cox is a perfect choice to head the cast, but unfortunately that seems to be where the good decisions end. The only other cougar on this show is Christa Miller (the sort-of attractive female friend from The Drew Carey Show), and she's not so much a cougar as she is someone who inspires the phrase "She must have been hot back in her prime." The female cast is rounded out by Busy Philipps, who is certainly attractive, but only 30 and still far removed ...

Star Wars creator George Lucas had a smashing time at the Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race in Long Beach, California on Saturday when he collided with CSI:Miami star Emily Procter. Kelly Hu completed the Honolulu marathon in her native Hawaii last month, and has the cast and crew of her new TV show to thank for getting her past the finishing line. Hollywood's elite came out to honor Asian Americans' accomplishments in entertainment, music and science at AZN Television's "2006 Asian Excellence Awards Featuring the Remy Martin X.O Honors." Yunjin Kim and Daniel Dae Kim of Lost took Outstanding Male and Female TV Performance awards home.
