Worst Emmy Dresses Of All Time (Video)

September 17th, 2011 4:30pm EDT
Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson
We love award shows, and the red carpet fashion is our favorite part. And sometimes it's so bad, it's good. Here's a look at Emmy's worst dressed of all time:

Patricia Heaton wore what looked like a housecoat to the 1999 Emmy Awards. Just say no to the keyhole cleavage and paisley pattern.

Who could forget Sarah Jessica Parker's cotton candy confection from the 2000 Emmys? Cheryl Hines' 2006 Emmy gown showed her "enthusiasm" for figure skating costumes.

Jenna Fischer wore a champagne, gold embelished gown tied together with a big bow.

Jaws dropped when Rita Wilson hit the 2010 red carp...

Fashion Hits And Misses At The CMT Music Awards

Nicole Kidman
The CMT Music Awards were held last night in Nashville, which meant that stars were free to show off their beautiful summer fashions on the red carpet. Some stars didn't exactly pull it off, however.

- Check out the entire CMT Music Awards Red Carpet gallery here!

Nicole Kidman's emerald and striped top says she wants to have fun, but the outfit just doesn't look right on a woman that usually dresses so classy. Her powder blue "spider-web" heels don't really go with anything except her nail polish.

Shania Twain looked great in this black dress, although the hem seems a little low for h...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Transylmania,' 'Everybody's Fine' & More

Tomorrow evening I will have the opportunity to see Jason Reitman's new travel comedy "Up in the Air" starring George Clooney. I have read a number of early favorable reviews of the film, and I really like Reitman's movies, so I'm fairly excited.

Comedy seems to prevail as a common theme this week. At the box office there will be two dramas and three comedies. Two of the films premiering are American adaptations of foreign films. In addition to "Up in the Air" films opening this week include "Armored," "Brothers," "Everybody's Fine," "Serious Moonlight," and "Transylmania."

Review: Opposites Attract In 'The Ugly Truth'

July 21st, 2009 1:33pm EDT
The Ugly Truth
"The Ugly Truth" is not a terribly great film but it's not a terribly bad film either. It's probably what any person seeking out a film starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler -- with a surprising, and totally warranted based on language alone, R rating -- as total opposites that, at first, can't stand being in the same room together, would expect. So, having that been said, it's hard to completely criticize a film that sets out to do exactly what it wants.

Katherine Heigl is Abby. This is not exactly the Katherine Heigl we are used to seeing in her recent films. This is a very uptigh...

The seventh season will pick up right where season six left off, mimicking a bit of David's real life. "My marriage to Cheryl on the show, well, we split up last season, remember? I'm with Vivica ...

What To Watch In March? Spotlight On Mid-Season Shows

March 4th, 2009 9:37am EST
Cupid
Once upon a time in a magical land called Hollywood, harried and somewhat unkempt writers bit their nails down to the quick awaiting news on if their pilots would receive full season orders, be given solid "Nos," or worse: be relegated to the limbo that is "mid-season replacement" territory.

Such shows aren't guaranteed to air at all, particularly if the initial fall line-up (the shows that network executives felt had the most potential) succeeds. And if mid-season shows do get a shot after premature cancellations, there is no guarantee they will find an audience, considering so many ...

It's pretty apparent that the emergence of original programming on the internet, debuting at only minute-and-a-half to three minute clips, was geared directly at the teenage set-- playing into the whole shortening attention span and need to get their entertainment from the same rectangular box that they get the research for their term papers and with which they network and communicate with friends. Web series, as they were deemed, didn't officially become an official part of new media until they began to gain widespread popularity with lonelygirl15, a video blog from a so-called teenage gir...
