Find Out How USA's New Series 'Dig' Should Captivate

3/5/2015 12:08pm EST
Tim Kring And Alison Sudol Take Us Inside The Mystery Of 'DIG'
USA is getting into the adventure business with DIG, its new event series that takes viewers into Jerusalem and a sprawling murder-conspiracy. It's a totally different type of story for the network, and we connected recently with co-creator Tim Kring and star Alison Sudol to talk about building the mystery, working with lead Jason Isaacs (pictured above with Sudol), and whether DIG should be considered a limited or ongoing series.

"We first had this idea about a murder mystery set in the old city of Jerusalem that uncovers a deep conspiracy, that had to do with all kinds of biblical prophe...

12 Things We Learned From NBCUniversal's Cable TCA Press Tour
Summer is here, and that means it's also time for the Summer TCA Press Tour, when TV networks to show off their latest slew of shows to a crowd of film critics.

But the days are long and stuffed with television. Hours upon hours, days upon days. A lot of TV. So for convenience's sake, we've shortened things down to only the most important parts of each presentation- this time, from NBCUniversal, and all the many cable channels currently in their employ.

12. "Mr. Robot" is the Real Title of a Real Pilot on USA

USA was quick to announce two new pilots it had just ordered. One, "Complicatio...

Interview: 'That's What She Said' Sassy Gal Anne Heche On Playing Caustic, Gus Van Sant And Volcanoes in L.A.

10/18/2012 1:30pm EDT
That's What She Said
It’s official – we love actress Anne Heche. And not just because of her very notable past work in films like "Walking and Talking," "Donnie Brasco" and Gus Van Sant’s shot-for-shot remake of "Psycho" or even her tasty turns in such recent outings as "Spread," "The Other Guys" and "Rampart." No, the big reason we’ve become such uber-fans is because nobody of late has been cooler, funnier and more gracious in an interview then the humble Heche – a pure delight is an understatement. It’s fitting because the current project being discussed, a dark comedy titled "That’s What She Said" (openin...

Anne Heche Gets Naughty And Silly In Sundance Movie 'That's What She Said'

1/23/2012 6:30pm EST
One of the most surprising performances in Sundance Film Festival movies is Anne Heche in That’s What She Said. The raunchy girls comedy casts her as a chain smoking foul mouthed drunk doing suggestive sexual dances in a coffee shop. At the Q&A following the premiere screening in Park City, Heche revealed how the filmmakers encouraged her to go sleazier and lower brow.

“The worse I got and the sloppier and dumber and more ridiculous I got, the more they laughed,” Heche said. “Just like any other dumb comedian, I was like, ‘Well, then I’ll go for it!’”

Review: 'Cedar Rapids' 'Two Jews On Film' Have Fun With This Quirky Comedy (Video)

2/10/2011 9:47am EST
Cedar Rapids
'Cedar Rapids' directed by Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl) is the story of an incredibly naive insurance agent Tim Lippe (Ed Helms) who's spent his entire life in the little town of Brown Valley Wisconsin. He's 34 years old, has never been on an airplane or stayed in a hotel. He's the guy that people always thought would go places, but then, he just...didn't.

That soon changes when his boss at Brown Star Insurance, Bill Krogstad (Stephen Root) dispatches him to the annual ASMI insurance convention in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tim's bring back the coveted Two Diamond Award that the...

Ed Helms Is Naked Again In 'Cedar Rapids'

2/10/2011 9:28am EST
Cedar Rapids
Most actors insist on no nudity clauses once they’re famous. Ed Helms just seems to get more naked. The Hangover had him in a drunken fling with a stripper. Now Cedar Rapids has several scenes when he’s stripped down to his briefs for a hotel pool orgy at an insurance convention.

“It’s funny, when a script has nudity in it, I don't think about it,” Helms said. “I’m like oh, that’ll be fine, it is what it is. Then as your contract starts to come together, I get a call from my lawyer, ‘We’re just working out the nudity clause.’ All of a sudden all these things are codified in a contract, lik...

Anne Heche Was Robbed

8/27/2010 5:00pm EDT
Anne Heche
Anne Heche's summer has taken a nightmare turn - the Los Angeles home she shares with actor James Tupper was robbed earlier this month.

The "Hung" star revealed on David Letterman's late night show on Thursday that the couple is assisting police with the investigation.

Heche revealed thieves got away with computers, iPods, jewelry, Tupper's camera and her eight year old son's Wii gaming system.

She told the talk show host: "Our summer was so boring except last week our house was robbed."

Heche has already given up hope the stolen items will ever be recovered, adding, "Absolutely not. We...

Female Celebrities Cheat Too!

4/9/2010 9:21am EDT
Female celebrity cheaters
Former NFL star and "Today Show" correspondent Tiki Barber has become the latest male celebrity embroiled in a cheating scandal. Like Tiger Woods and Jesse James before him, Tiki will be subjected to intense media scrutiny and heavily criticized by women everywhere, including the whole cast of "The View." While it may seem like only male celebrities cheat on their partners due to these recent cheating scandals involving high-profile male celebrities, female celebrities are just as guilty when it comes to committing adultery.

From Elizabeth Taylor to Angelina Jolie, female celebrities have ...

25 Worst Movies Of 2009

11/27/2009 9:46am EST
The Body
Wow, there were some bad movies, like really bad, in 2009 but since we are optimists we like to think the good outnumbered the bad. We already discussed the good movies, and now we will feature the bad and ugly of 2009. Sometimes bad movies are entertaining enough to keep our attention for a few hours but sometimes the movies are so bad we induce vomiting to make us feel better.

Couples Retreat (25) had the cast and the budget to be a funny flick and it came out in the fourth quarter of 2009 when the best movies already came out. This movie was bad, not funny, and it might have marked th...

Top 10 Films With Numbers In The Title

9/26/2009 1:52pm EDT
In honor of the recent Tim Burton film 9 we're spotlighting numerals and numbers in film. What they have contributed to movies over the years goes beyond simply differentiating an original from a sequel.

For the most part this list excludes sequels. Sorry. It's just too easy. Also, much too simple are the straight up number films. But the English language loopholes are definitely abused throughout this top ten to reflect the best and, well, most viewed options. Check them out!

Best & Worst Of Ashton Kutcher

8/14/2009 10:45am EDT
Ashton Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher is one of those actors that the general public loves to hate yet secretly loves. He is a leading man with striking looks who has made numerous successful films; he has more than 1 million followers on Twitter; he is married to Demi Moore and he comes across as being a genuinely nice human being. Yet the phrase, "Want to see the new Ashton Kutcher movie with me?" tends to make people want to expunge their last meal.

As with any performer, not everything that Kutcher does is a gem of a move. The collective work of Kutcher isn't exactly Oscar worthy, but most of what he do...

Anne Heche's Bikini Body

Anne Heche bikini
We couldn't help but point out again how great Anne Heche has been looking lately. Check her out in a bikini and spilling out of a red carpet dress below...

Heche, who turned 40 this past May, stars in the new movie 'Spread' with Ashton Kutcher. In the film, which opens this week, Kutcher plays a Los Angeles gigolo working his way to infamy one mattress at a time. Anne plays one of his older, well-to-do clients.

Earlier this year she celebrated the birth of Atlas Heche Tupper, her first child with boyfriend James Tupper. She gave birth just days before she finalized her divorced from ex-h...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies 8/9/09 - 8/15/09

8/10/2009 9:57am EDT
District 9
I finally saw the Sam Mendes dramedy "Away We Go" starring Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski. The film is thoroughly enjoyable with its highs and its lows sharing equal poignancy. It is the perfect hybrid of a drama and a comedy.

Music throughout the film is spot on, appropriate in each instance for the emotions the filmmakers are trying to convey. Rudolph and Krasinski have a wonderful chemistry as husband and wife and engage in hilarious interactions with the other couples in the movie. Krasinski plays the role of Burt with a dopey charm that's hard not to love.

This week is crowd...

Anne Heche at Spread premiere
Motherhood is doing something good for Anne Heche. Check her out at the "Spread" Las Vegas premiere yesterday. What do you think of Anne's look?

Anne gave birth to son Atlas in March, just days before she finalized her divorced from ex-husband Coley Laffoon - the father of her seven-year-old son Homer. Anne pays $3,700 in monthly child support for Homer, as well as 75 percent of her son's private school tuition.

Anne and Atlas' dad, James Tupper, met on the set of Men in Trees.

Similar Story Smackdown: Which Hollywood Flicks Came Out On Top?

4/27/2009 11:57am EDT
Saving Private Ryan
So, have you seen this year's comedy about an overweight, overzealous, loser-y mall cop who takes his job way too seriously and is hopelessly in love with a fellow shopping center employee? If you're not sure whether I'm referring to January's hit Paul Blart: Mall Cop or the newest Seth Rogen comedy Observe and Report (in theaters now), don't be too hard on yourself: Both flicks have eerily similar plotlines. This isn't the first time two films with the same subject matter have been released within a year of one another; Hollywood has a talent for redundancy (see: recycling and ripping off)...

Anne Heche Eager For Tupper To Finalize Divorce

1/28/2009 3:07pm EST
Anne Heche
Pregnant actress Anne Heche is reportedly urging her married actor boyfriend James Tupper to divorce his wife - so they can welcome their first child together as a legitimate couple.

The pair met when they were cast as on-screen lovers on the set of axed drama Men In Trees. They went public with their romance in 2007, after Heche filed for divorce from her then-husband, Coley Laffoon, the father of her six-year-old son Homer. And now the actress is eager for Tupper to finalize his split from Katherine Mayfield, almost two years after he filed a petition for divorce.

Stars Who Were Probably Abducted

Gary Busey
Artists. They sing, dance, paint and act. Most parents would consider their child confused and misguided if they declared, "I'm going to be an artist!" and do everything possible to persuade him or her to go to college, grad school or into temping. ANYTHING else that provides a more consistent and reliable income. Among the occupations that can lead to the starving artist syndrome is the usual pairing of actor and waitress. Living off small tips might lead to the sometimes bizarre behavior of Hollywood's up and comers, but the crazy trait runs stronger in some unique actors…and crazy is wha...

Workplace Romance: Costars Who Fell In Love

8/19/2008 12:08pm EDT
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
It is widely acknowledged that workplace romances are a definite no-no; clearly, some famous actors and actresses didn't get the memo. From classic romantic duos Bogey/Bacall and Spencer/Tracy to contemporary pairings like "Bennifer" and "Brangelina", since the inception of cinema, thespians have taken on-set relationships from reel-life to real-life.

Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland's hearts skipped a beat while filming Flatliners (1990). Tom Cruise admired a young Aussie actress named Nicole Kidman and had her cast opposite him in Days of Thunder. The movie Seven ended with Gwynet...

Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards have topped a new magazine poll listing "Hollywood's Nastiest Splits."

They join Anne Heche and Coley Laffoon, Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin and Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook among the divorced couples on the new nasty list.

Celebrity Horoscope: Gemini

5/22/2008 8:30am EDT
Angelina Jolie
Gemini (May 22-June 21) are said to have a dual nature. The astrological symbol for Gemini is the Roman numeral for two, representing twins and duality.

Twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are Geminis. Last year the 21-year-old power duo earned $17 million, and they are planning on releasing a coffee table book about their fashion inspirations.

Gemini can be fickle. Those born under this sign represent the yin and the yang, or the law of opposites. It can be no coincidence that Anne Heche is a Gemini. She famously dated Ellen DeGeneres but later married a man. She di...
