Judy Greer To Tie The Knot

June 21st, 2011 8:32am EDT
Judy Greer
Actress Judy Greer is engaged to marry her producer boyfriend.

The 27 Dresses star has been dating Dean Johnsen, a co-producer on talk show Real Time With Bill Maher, for a year and he proposed during a recent trip to Napa, California.

Greer was sporting her engagement ring at the Critics' Choice Television Awards on Monday, and told E! Online, "I'm really excited. I'm so happy."

Interview: 'Archer's' Judy Greer Shares Her Favorite Moments

April 1st, 2011 10:17am EDT
Judy Greer
She's the woman behind Archer's most messed-up character: secretary Cheryl/Carol (or whatever else she decides to be called). As her character takes center stage in tonight's episode, "El Secuestro," actress Judy Greer sat down with me to talk about being part of the most warped workplace in TV history. (Warning: mild spoilers from last night's new episode within.)

How did you get started doing voice work? What led you to Archer?

I think I did like one word on Family Guy like a hundred years ago. I think I said one word on an episode and I was excited about that. I did this littl...

'Archer' 2.10 'El Secuestro' Review

April 1st, 2011 1:37am EDT
Archer
This week's Archer begins with a slow-moving, painfully obvious black van rolls up on Pam and Cheryl/Carol, and a few guys in ski masks kidnap Pam after Cheryl/Carol tells them that Pam is Cheryl. I suppose it's telling that, given we've already dealt with ninjas and a cancer scare this season, kidnapping seems relatively normal to me.

Cheryl/Carol breaks the news of the kidnapping to the rest of ISIS, explaining that as she's part of a very important family with a very impressive mansion, the guys in the black van were probably after her. (In short order, we also learn that her la...

FX Brings Back 'Archer' And 'Justified'

March 29th, 2011 4:23pm EDT
Justified
Good news, everyone!

Two of our favorite shows around these parts have officially been renewed for their respective third seasons. Both TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly are reporting that Archer and Justified will return. The news isn’t a surprise, as both shows have been going strong in their sophomore runs (currently airing Thursdays & Wednesdays at 10 PM, respectively), but it’s still great to know that we can expect to see more of Sterling Archer and Raylan Givens.

The good folks behind Archer revealed on Twitter that their third season will be sixteen episodes, while Justified's ...

Interview: Jason Biggs, Sarah Chalke Are In 'Mad Love'

February 11th, 2011 4:34pm EST
Mad Love
Consider it an early Valentine's Day present: I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Jason Biggs and Sarah Chalke, two of the stars of CBS' entry into the "relationship comedy" bonanza, Mad Love. The series, which drops oh so perfectly on Valentine's Day, focuses on Biggs and Chalke (pictured on the lower left) as a couple in love - while his best friend (Tyler Labine, top right) and her roommate (Judy Greer, top left) hate each other, but not entirely. Here's what the guy from American Pie and the lady from Scrubs had to say about embarking on a new series together.

I love this show. I'm also convinced I'm going to hell for loving this show.

Archer is hilarious to me, but it's comp...

Review:'Love and Other Drugs' 'Two Jews On Film' Have Lover's Quarrel (Video)

November 24th, 2010 4:13pm EST
LoveDrugs-112210-0004.jpg
'Love & Other Drugs' directed by Edward Zwick is what you call an unconventional, quirky love story. Anne Hathaway portrays Maggie, a free spirit who won't let anything get her down. She also enjoys having sex...lots of sex...preferably, meaningless sex. And that works just fine for Jamie Randall (Jake Gyllenhall), a very charming, good looking, pharmaceutical salesman with a hot bod and not much consciousness. So these two pretty people hook up...over and over again, always reassuring each other that the last thing they want to do is... fall in love. Well, we've all seen enough Holl...

Review: 'Two Jews On Film' Agree On 'Barry Munday' (Video)

September 30th, 2010 9:59am EDT
Barry Munday
"Barry Munday" a quirky, very funny, and heartwarming film stars the wonderful Patrick Wilson, (playing against type), Judy Greer, Chloe Sevigny, Colin Hanks, Cybill Shepherd, Jean Smart, Emily Proctor, Missi Pyle and Malcolm McDowell. Barry Munday is a wanna be suburban Don Juan and your typical man-child. He gets viciously attacked in a movie theater one day and wakes up in a hospital bed. He quickly discovers that he's lost something very precious...his testicles. On top of that he finds out he's impregnated a woman (the marvelous Judy Greer) that he can't remember having sex with. Aisha Tyler Stars In New FX Animated Series, 'Archer'

January 14th, 2010 8:37am EST
Archer
Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy set at the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS), a spy agency where espionage and global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other.

The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as suave master spy "Sterling Archer," whose less-than-masculine code name is Duchess; Jessica Walter as his domineering mother and boss, Malory Archer; Aisha Tyler as his ex-girlfriend and current co-worker, Agent Lana Kane; George Coe as his aging-but-loyal butler, Woodhouse;...

August 25th, 2008 9:01am EDT
Kath & Kim
With the new fall season just around the corner (where did the summer go?), there are a slew of new comedies on the horizon that network marketing execs want you to believe are the most revolutionary things since the invention of color television.

Due to the recent writers' strike, a good chunk of these programs got pushed through to series without networks even seeing a pilot episode. So how can viewers weed through them to find the deep belly laughs amid piles of mere canned chuckles? That's where we come in. Here we break it down night by night and highlight what is worth a try ...

Despite Good Actors, 'Miss Guided' Is Ultimately Misguided

April 9th, 2008 12:32pm EDT
Miss Guided
If you can't beat 'em, just rip 'em off. "Miss Guided," ABC's new sitcom about a high school guidance counselor, takes elements from several successful sitcoms currently on the air and attempts to string them all together with incredibly uneven results.

The series' premise holds great potential: a formerly geeky student, Becky Freeley (Judy Greer) returns to her alma mater as a guidance counselor with newly great looks and confidence. Upon her return, she is subjected to the politics of high school faculty, which are not much different from those of students.

Episodes find Freele...

Brooke Burns Talks About 'Miss Guided'

Brooke Burns
Brooke Burns talked to us recently about her new show, Miss Guided (including a sneak peek at the next few episodes,) her upcoming movies, and the importance that her daughter Madison has on her life. She does indeed live up to her IMDB resume which posts “Prior Job Title: Mom.” But she is more. She is courageous, having recovered from a near-fatal accident, yet still does most of her own stunts, is charming to chat with, and kept us chuckling through the entire interview.

We just got our first peek of Miss Guided. Pretty funny stuff! We liked your character, Lisa Germain.

There May Be Cracks, But The Comedy Glass Ceiling Still Exists For Women

March 14th, 2008 3:00pm EDT
Parker Posey
In this town (Los Angeles) and this industry (entertainment), there are a handful of strong, intelligent, funny women who - once they finally broke onto the radar - have worked consistently in equally strong, intelligent, funny roles.

After reading this month's "Who Says Women Aren't Funny" issue of Vanity Fair, it is impossible not to notice just how many beyond the current "it" girls of comedy were left off that list (which included funnygirls such as Tina Fey, Sarah Silverman and Amy Poehler). This is an attempt to rectify that and garner them the recognition they so rightly dese...
