'Parenthood' Season 5: 5 Spoilers You Need To Know

9/25/2013 3:15pm EDT
Parenthood
“Parenthood,” the tear-jerking drama about a Berkley, California family, is one of the bests shows on television.  It's also the one of the most underrated.  Thanks to a spectacular fourth season that featured Joel and Julia’s adoption of a troubled child; Kristina’s wrenching bout with breast cancer; Sarah’s (Lauren Graham) love triangle; and Amber’s first love, the show is finally getting a fraction of the notoriety it deserves.  To celebrate its move to Thursday nights, here are five spoilers you need to know…

Lauren Graham Worried About Twitter Onslaught Over Upcoming Book

Lauren Graham
Bad Santa star Lauren Graham is secretly dreading the publication of her first novel next year - because it means she will have to interact with her fans on Twitter.com.

The actress admits she's not a big fan of micro-blogging because she fears once she starts chatting with followers, she'll never stop.

She tells WENN, "I have been avoiding it. There's something about it that probably I worry I would just never leave the house and I'd just go too far.

"However, I am publishing a novel in the spring and I have been told that I will have to do some of that stuff just in support of that, so...

Project Runway Season 10 premiere
"Project Runway" returned last night, and with it came all of our favorite faces – the always-fabulous Tim Gunn, host Heidi Klum, judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, and of course Mood’s adorable Swatch. As for the sponsors (and the product pushing started within the first seven minutes), HP and L’Oreal Paris have returned, but that thoughtfully-used accessory wall is now provided by Lord & Taylor instead of Piperlime. The big question is: are the L’Oreal Paris folks doing hair now, too? I didn’t see or hear any mention of Garnier. No Garnier?? Come on, it’s not an episode of "Project Runw...

'Parenthood': The Best Show You're Not Watching

2/28/2012 1:10pm EST
parenthood cast
It’s not a stretch to say that while most Americans are struggling through the current economic crisis, Hollywood is battling its own creative recession as the industry continues to sink its money into remakes of old shows, superhero franchises and classic fairytales.

This is why it’s a crime against television that NBC’s “Parenthood” is so unacceptably under-watched and underappreciated. This cape-free show follows the lives of three generations of the tight-knit, wine-loving Braverman clan. With drama that's unflinchingly genuine, the show doesn’t just tug on the heartstrings, it downr...

NBC Fall Season Preview: Spies, CIA Plots And Outsourcing

NBC Fall Preview
NBC is likely getting tired of being referred to as "fourth place NBC." Last year's Jay Leno experiment was clearly a disaster and served as a boon for TBS, which won the Conan sweepstakes. This fall, NBC has fresher programming. With aging favorites and risky new underdogs, does the network have a shot at moving up the ratings ladder, even to third place? Time will tell. Stranger things have happened. Here's a look at what new shows could make the grade and what's in store for old favorites.

Lauren Graham Hints At 'Gilmore Girls' Movie

9/15/2010 12:30pm EDT
Lauren Graham
Actress Lauren Graham has given hope to fans of the defunct series Gilmore Girls - she's revealed a big-screen adaption could be in the pipeline.

The show, starring Graham as a single mom raising her daughter, began in 2000 but was axed in 2007. Calls for a movie spin-off never came to fruition - but Graham admits a big-screen version is now being discussed.

She tells Vanity Fair magazine, "It might (happen). What's funny to me is that in all these years, no one ever talked about (a film) except the fans. But now people... who could actually make it happen are talking about it."

Pilot Recap: The Who’s Who And What’s What Of 'Parenthood'

3/4/2010 9:27am EST
Parenthood
The premiere of the ensemble dramedy “Parenthood” felt a lot like a typical family gathering – some parts are good, some parts are bad, and you’re full by the time you leave. In this Pilot episode, we met about 20 characters in as many minutes, and spent the rest of the hour sorting out who was who, as a whole lot of plot points began to materialize. In summary, here’s what we learned:

At the top of the Braverman family tree are Zeek and Camille played by Craig T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia. The senior-most Mom and Dad in the ‘hood have four adult children, who are now in various stages of...

Golden Globes Fashion 2010
Many of the ladies sizzled on the red carpet at last night's Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif. Purple was a major pick of the evening, as Sandra Bullock, Fergie, Heidi Klum and Jane Krakowski demonstrated.

As usual black was a very popular color, and stars like Jennifer Aniston, Mariah Carey, Halle Berry, Heather Graham, Vera Farmiga and Penelope Cruz looked fab.

There wasn't a lot of bad fashion, although Tina Fey's billowing skirt was a bit too much, and Rita Wilson's flower pattern dress was simply too floral.

What did you think of last night's red carpet fashion? Who...

Starpulse Writer Compares Real Life To 'Post Grad'

I've always felt a companionship with Alexis Bledel due to her seven season stint as Rory Gilmore on the sorely missed "Gilmore Girls." I often imagined myself strolling through the Stars Hollow gazebo with Rory and her oh-so-cool mom Lorelai (Lauren Graham) before settling in for a night on their couch, rambling off sarcastic pop culture references at about 912 words a minute.

Now with the release of her new movie "Post Grad" Alexis and I have even more to bond over. I'm in the same situation as her character Ryden Malby, who is a recent college grad who failed to secure her dream job ...

Spotlight On Lauren Graham And Her Latest Film 'The Answer Man'

There's a double edged sword that comes along with being a famous television star; you have the success and Golden Globe nominations, but what do you do afterward? Lauren Graham is an actress of great comedic timing and ability, and after eight years on the hit show "Gilmore Girls," she made Lorelai Gilmore one of the coolest moms ever on television. Spunky, smart, and fast talking, Lorelai was a hit from the beginning in the sharply written TV series, and Graham's own personal charm certainly added to the character. All you Gilmore fans must be wondering, where did Graham come from and whe...

This Week's Movie Buzz: See It, Rent It, Or Skip It?

The Ugly Truth
Last Tuesday I had the opportunity to catch "Dead Snow" on Demand, and it was everything I hoped it would be. To enjoy the film though you truly need to suspend your disbelief, because if Nazi zombies are not enough, there are tons of really ridiculous, impossible events that occur.

This self-aware horror film makes many hilarious references both directly and indirectly to other movies of the genre. Characters are incredibly cliché and the dialogue is woefully written, but it is an action packed gore-fest featuring some of the most delightfully brutal horror movie deaths.

Lauren Graham And Oliver Platt Shine In Broadway's Guys And Dolls, Just Not Together

Remember on Seinfeld when George Costanza gave Jerry two tickets for Guys and Dolls on Broadway? I've probably seen this episode 15 times. I remember thinking: Who gives someone tickets to Guys and Dolls? Is this what people in New York City do? Also: What exactly is Guys and Dolls?

I now live in New York City; I have now seen Guys and Dolls.

There is a lot of hype surrounding this revival considering Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) and Oliver Platt (Frost/Nixon) are starring. So much, indeed, that it was next to impossible to not read, or at least hear about, a review -- especially...

Let's be honest: she was the real star on Gilmore Girls. Rory's constant whining started getting tiresome around the third episode. In the course of the show Graham defined the character of Lorelai and revealed herself to be a radiant, gifted a...

Character Additions That Nearly Ruined A TV Show (Or Did)

6/10/2008 8:45am EDT
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
It's been said that a TV show is only as good as the characters that occupy it. During the first season of series, the writers introduce us to certain main characters that the show is going to revolve around. Once a season ends and a new one is about to start all bets are off because the writers don't want to see the ratings drop.

Their solution? Bring in new characters.

Whether they were added in advance or brought on spontaneously, new characters are added in hopes of appealing to an even bigger audience and to increase a particular show's ratings. This doesn't always turn out ...

What's The Best Show On TV Right Now? Starpulse Writers Weigh In

What makes a TV show great? Is it the number of viewers or awards it has received? Not necessarily. In its last season, less than 3 million people tuned in to an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," but it is unarguably one of the best sci-fi/fantasy shows of all time. In seven seasons, the show won just one Emmy - in 1998 for outstanding makeup. Guess what other fan favorite won just one Emmy (also for outstanding makeup)? Gilmore Girls.

Despite both series' original and witty screenwriting, they never received the props they deserved. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Lauren Graham bo...
