Greer Garson was one of the great leading ladies of the screen.

Ms. Garson's Oscar Winning performance is in William Wyler's classic film "Mrs. Miniver" made Garson one of the most popular actresses worldwide, 'Mrs. Miniver' and at one time was the second most popular movie in MGM history after 'Gone With The Wind'.
The story goes that Winston Churchill used the last reel of
Mrs. Miniver to encourage the British to fight the good fight against Evil.

Garson's long career saw her work with stars such as Clark Gable, Errol Flynn,Debbie Reynolds, Fred McMurray, Walter Pidgeon, Ronald Colman, Gregory Peck, and et al.

After a series of great box office hits at MGM, Garson semi retired only to return playing Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt in Warner Bros. "Sunrise at Campobello" which garnered Garson yet another Oscar nomination for her fine Performance.

Greer Garson continued her career into the 1970's in both Hollywood with cameos in"The Singing Nun" starring Debbie Reynolds and in Walt Disney's "The Happiest Millionaire" and TV.

Greer Garson also founded the Garson Studios in New Mexico and also produced on Broadway "On Golden Pond" which she hoped to star in the film version however that went to Kate Hepburn.

Greer Garson is known in Dallas where I live for her great philanthropy and among her gifts to Dallas is a a great Theatre
where she performed in some of the productions. The grand Greer Garson Theatre is located on the Campus of SMU
