Born June 10, 1922 in Grand Rapids, MN, Frances Ethel Gumm was the youngest of three daughters born to two vaudevillians-turned-movie theater managers. Nicknamed "Baby," the young girl made her stage debut as a two-year-old singing "Jingle Bells" with her sisters.
