Jane Fonda insists she is "lucky" her recent cancer scare wasn't more serious, praising her doctors for catching the condition "early."

The star recently underwent surgery to remove a lump from her breast after her physician discovered a small "non-invasive" tumor during a routine check-up earlier this year.

The 72-year-old Oscar-winner is now cancer-free and admits she feels blessed to have been able to treat the disease before it became more serious.

Jane Fonda is planning to marry her boyfriend at the end of the year in front of two of her ex-husbands, according to U.K. reports.

Fonda was recently rumoured to be planning her fourth wedding, to 67-year old record producer Richard Perry, but a spokeswoman for the actress insisted the pair will not be exchanging vows any time soon.

Movie veteran Jane Fonda can't find work because she refuses to play "dour" roles. The 70-year-old actress thought the parts would come flooding in after she played Jennifer Lopez's mother-in-law in the comedy Monster-In-Law - but all she has been offered is similar roles.

She tells More magazine the parts she's offered are "either dour, or less interesting versions of the shrewish mother-in-law."

Fonda admits she fears her movie career may be over: "I'm too old to produce, because it takes years. I can't. But I really do want to make movies."
