Ashley Fink Dropped From 'Glee' Cast

April 23rd, 2012 3:56pm EDT
Ashley Fink
Actress Ashley Fink has been dropped from the cast of Glee.

The plus-size star played Lauren Zizes on the hit TV musical series, but fans were left wondering about her future when her character quit the high school glee club New Directions at the start of the third season last year.

Now, Fink has confirmed she won't be returning to McKinley High. She tells TheInsider.com, "It is what it is. Lauren's somewhere in that school, she's just not on camera or being talked about. She's involved in activities that aren't televised."

However, the 25 year old insists she isn't bitter about losi...

'Glee' Finale: Let's Hear It For 'New York'

May 25th, 2011 11:25am EDT
The glee club visits New York City for Regionals
We made it! ‘Glee’ is in NYC to compete at Nationals and conclude a chart-topping, show-stopping, star-studded, post-Super Bowl time-slot scoring second season.

True to form, our favorite fictional show choir is in a situation that is about as absurd as the Broadway-obsessed Rachel Berry thinking that CATS is still open for business. New Directions has come to Nationals without a song or a set list and now they need to write a couple of hits in as many overstuffed hotel rooms. Brittany, Artie, and Puck offer up the ditty, “My Cup,” and there are enough eyes rolling around the room for som...

'Glee' Recap: Love, Loss, And Pure Imagination

May 18th, 2011 3:12pm EDT
Glee Funeral
This week was a big one! ‘Glee’ is gearing up for Nationals in New York, but before they take Manhattan, Finn calls it quits with Quinn, Rachel and Jesse share a kiss, and all the plans to win get interrupted by a sad and surprising loss. It’s the penultimate episode of the season and as Mr. Schue puts it, the culmination of everything the glee club has worked towards for the past two years. They’ve got to be awesome and this week, they kind of were.

Like Kirsten Dunst hiring a jazz hands-obsessed choreographer in the movie, “Bring It On,” Mr. Schue has made the decision to recruit 4-time...

'Glee' Recap: Bully Whips and Dancing Queens

May 11th, 2011 2:05pm EDT
GLEE: Blaine Darren Criss
Prom Elections are in full swing and New Directions is filling in for Air Supply as the house band. While most of the club is pretty psyched about the news, but our beloved Mercedes is hung up on the fact that she doesn’t have a date. She was really Jonesing for that Cinderella moment and damn it, new best friend to all, Rachel Berry, is going to give it to her. Sam is recruited and agrees that with a little financial aid, he’s up for the job of accompanying both divas to their big night.

Kurt asks Blaine to prom and with a bit of gentle open-minded prodding he agrees. The more important q...

'Glee' Recap: A Whole Lot Of Rumours

May 4th, 2011 11:41am EDT
Glee Kristin Chenoweth
This week is a tribute to the Fleetwood Mac album, Rumours and all the plot points are built around a track list that includes “Dreams” , “Don’t Stop,” and “Go Your Own Way,” among others.

Sue is back after a Gaga-mandated hiatus, and the first item on her agenda is to revitalize the school newspaper and get the gossip mill powered up and running. It’s actually one of her more sensible strategic efforts to take down the Glee Club. Using gossip columnists and tabloid coverage to take down a pop act?!? Look no further than the train-wreck eras of Britney, Whitney, and Lindsay, or Saved By...

'Glee' Recap: Just Be A Queen

April 27th, 2011 10:20am EDT
GLEE Born This Way
In just a few weeks, the glee club is going to Nationals, prom royalty will be crowned, and Lady Gaga will release a new album. It’s a trifecta of amazing events that deserve to be brought together in a super sparkly, extra-long ‘Glee’ that’s all about self-acceptance.

Rather than hit us over the head with the theme of this episode, Finn clocks Rachel in the nose. In under a minute, rhinoplasty is on the table and New Directions is debating the merits of surgically enhanced vs unconditional self-acceptance. Miss Pillsbury is brought in to help Mr. Schue drive home the message that this we...

'Glee' Takes An 'Original Song' To Regionals

March 16th, 2011 10:41am EDT
GLEE: Kurt 'Original Song'
This week, New Directions decided to work with original songs, rather than the classics they’ve worked with in the past. Will it be the winning combination the club needs to stay in the running?

Coach “World Wide Sue” is all over this episode, thank heavens, and she’s great right out of the gate when she tells Mr. Schue she’s gotten My Chemical Romance to say no to the rights to the song he had his heart set on for the clubs ‘showstopper’ at Regionals. It seems she slept with the drummer. Although it later turns out that she forged the ‘cease and desist’ order, and actually slept with the...

Rosie O'Donnell Apologizes To 'Glee' Star Ashley Fink

February 24th, 2011 8:37am EST
Rosie O'Donnell
Rosie O'Donnell has reached out to Ashley Fink after she was quoted criticizing the plus-sized Glee star's character in the hit musical series. The comedienne sparked fury among Glee fans after allegedly insisting Fink's on-screen romance with handsome Mark Salling was implausible.

She was quoted as telling Access Hollywood, "It really, really strikes a chord with every overweight woman I know. Every woman I know who's heavy has strong feelings about that storyline. They're like, 'Can you believe that? I think that's horrible. That never happens in school. That character is so unlikable. ...
