Born: May 12, 1969

African-American actress Kim Fields was born on May 12, 1969, in New York City.

Kim is most notably known for her childhood role as Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey from the television sitcoms "Differ'nt Strokes" and "The Facts Of Life."

The actress made her television debut at the age of five on an episode of the PBS children's show "Sesame Street" and later went on to star as Refine Hunter on the Fox sitcom "Living Single". She has appeared in the films "An Invited Guest," "Glow" and "Me and Mrs. Jones."

Fields graduated from Burbank High School and from Pepperdine University with a degree in communications.

A born-again Christian who speaks to youth groups and schools about religion, Kim was arrested in 1999 for protesting against a police officer who shot an unarmed black woman.
