It's been years -- decades even -- since Sally Field captivated our hearts with her charm and adorable smile. As a testament to her timeless beauty, pictures of the young actress keep surfacing online. And they are reminders of how hot Sally was in the heydey of her career.

Who Knew Sally Field Could Rock A Pair Of Daily Dukes?

Sally Field photo 2014
Sally Field was one hot mama back in the day -- and that's putting it lightly.

A '70s something photo of Field emerged on the internet recently and showed the 31-year-old actress in 1977 looking dainty, innocent, but above all -- hot. In the picture, Sally is sitting by the water or a pond. She's donning a pair of Daisy Duke shorts (thank you very much) and a white tank top while staring innocently into the camera. This girl is on Fiya!

Sally Field was well into her professional acting career at the time she posed for the photo. She gained fame with roles in Gidget, The Flying Nun, and ot...

Sally Field Massacres Julia Roberts In 'Curse-Off'

5/6/2014 6:03pm EDT
Sally Field
Julia Roberts never stood a chance when she faced off against Sally Field in a competition to see who could come up with the most curses.

The two actresses were guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote their films – Roberts is in The Normal Heart and Field is in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But Kimmel had the idea to also test how foul their mouths were.

Kimmel introduced the game, saying, "We are honored to have both Sally Field and Julia Roberts on the show tonight - and it's also an opportunity to find out which of these incredibly talented women has the foulest mouth. Cover your ears, Amer...

She once told a reporter why she wouldn't get plastic surgery: "Our wrinkles are our medals of the passage of life. They are what we have been through and who we want to be. I don't think I will ever cut my face, because once I cut it, I'll never know where I've been."

Way to go, Lauren!

Watch A Video Montage Of Memorable Oscar Speeches

Watch A Video Montage Of Memorable Oscar Speeches
Over the course of 85 Academy Award presentations, there have been plenty of memorable speeches, one of the most notable being Sally Field declaring, "You like me!" She won her first Oscar in 1980 for her role in "Norma Rae."

Cuba Gooding, Jr. also got super excited after he won Best Supporting Actor for "Jerry Maguire" in 1996. He kept thanking people as the walk-off music began playing, making the speech that much more interesting.

Jack Palance (1992's "City Slickers") demonstrated his fitness ability by doing a one-armed push-up during his acceptance speech.

And Julia Roberts giggled ...

8 Oscar Moments That Moved Us
1. Ben Affleck Arrives At Oscars A Boy, Leaves A Man!

It took fifteen long years for Ben Affleck to recoup highbrow status in Hollywood. After riding high with a win for Best Original Screenplay alongside Matt Damon in 1998 for "Good Will Hunting," Affleck attached himself to a series of box-office bombs. Slowly, Affleck redeemed himself not as an actor but as a screenwriter, and received critical acclaim for his work in 2007's "Gone Baby Gone." He then scored big with 2010's "The Town," which he also co-wrote and starred in. When Affleck attached himself to the George Clooney-produced 20...

Will Anne Hathaway's Performance In 'Les Miserables' Bring Oscar Gold?

2/24/2013 6:30pm EST
Les Miserables
One take. That's all it took Anne Hathaway to land both an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress AND cement herself as the favorite to win the award.

Her brief appearance in Tom Hooper's adaptation of Les Miserables was nothing short of epic, nailing her performance of "I Dreamed A Dream" in just one take. Hathaway gives off so much emotion during the scene that it's hard to get through it with a dry eye. Not to mention she's weeping herself throughout the sad song.

So who's she up against?

Only two-time Oscar winner Sally Field, whose portrayal of the batsh*t crazy Mary Todd Linc...

Oscars 2013
Hey Jennifer Lawrence, don't worry if you don't land an Academy Award for your performance in Silver Linings Playbook (you will), because all the nominees who aren't bringing home an Oscar statue this year will get a goodie-bag worth $45,000 as a consolation prize (which will only cost them about $10,000 in taxes to keep).

Gift bags containing all sorts of expensive tchotchkes are nothing new at awards ceremonies like the Oscars, Emmys and Grammys. They started out as a way for companies to get the stars photographed with their wares in exchange for free stuff, ultimately evolving into a p...

Best & Worst Dressed At The 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Critic's Choice Awards Fashion
On the heels of Wednesday's People's Choice Awards, the stars filled the red carpet at the 18th Annual Critic's Choice Movie Awards on Thursday.

Jennifer Lawrence, who took home the Best Actress In A Comedy award for "Silver Linings Playbook," looked incredible in a black draped Gurung gown with a train.

Also a hit was "Les Miserables" actress Anne Hathaway in a metallic floor-length Oscar de la Renta gown.

Hathaway's co-star Amanda Seyfried didn't impress us so much with her topknot hairstyle and Mario Schwab blue lace dress.

And perhaps Eva Longoria looked better in person, but her Mo...

1/10/2013 10:13am EST
This year's Oscars host, Seth MacFarlane, was accompanied by actress Emma Stone Thursday morning to announce the nominees for the 85th annual Academy Awards.

Over 400 media representatives from around the world attended the 5:30am (Pacific) press conference to find out which films and stars are this year's cream of the crop.

Not surprisingly, Steven Spielberg's Abraham Lincoln biopic Lincoln led the pack with a whopping 12 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Daniel Day Lewis), and Best Director (Spielberg).

There were few surprises amongst this year's nominees, most notably ...

Anne Hathaway Wrote A Spy Movie For Sally Field

11/23/2012 10:15am EST
Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway once attempted to write a screenplay for a film she hoped would feature Sally Field.

The two actresses recently met up for a roundtable discussion organized by The Hollywood Reporter and Hathaway told the veteran of the project.

The Devil Wears Prada star said, "You don't know this, but I tried to write a movie for you, about a spy.

"I thought, 'Sally would be amazing, because who would ever think she was a spy?'"

Japanese 'Amazing Spider-Man' Trailer Gives Darker Preview

4/16/2012 4:07pm EDT
The Amazing Spider-Man
A new Japanese trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has hit the Internet and created buzz in a movie-going community hungry for anything "Spidey."

In the two-minute clip (don't worry; it' in English with Japanese subtitles), an evolving (pun!) relationship is shown between Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) and Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans). When it first appears that Connors may have some insight into what Parker's father was studying, he dives in head-first - and ends up creating one of his most deadly adversaries, The Lizard (a mutated Dr. Connors).

When wounds from his "nightlife" begin t...

Forrest Gump, Bambi and The Silence Of The Lambs are among the latest movies picked to be preserved as American national treasures.

Tom Hanks' Oscar-winning picture from 1994 will be added to the country's National Film Registry along with the Disney classic and Anthony Hopkins' gory thriller.

The movies are among 25 which are chosen annually for preservation by the Library of Congress and this year's list also includes Charlie Chaplin's first full-length feature The Kid, as well as 1953's War of the Worlds, Porgy and Bess (1959) and Sally Field's Oscar-winning 1979 drama Norma Rae.

'Soapdish' Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary On DVD October 4th

10/3/2011 5:30pm EDT
Soap Dish
The off-screen craziness rivals the on-screen drama in the sidesplitting comedy SOAPDISH, celebrating its 20th anniversary on DVD October 4, 2011.

Boasting an extraordinary cast of stars including Robert Downey Jr., Sally Field, Kevin Kline, Whoopi Goldberg, Elisabeth Shue, Teri Hatcher, Garry Marshall, Cathy Moriarty and Kathy Najimy, the hilarious comedy follows the outrageous hijinks of the cast and crew of America’s hottest soap opera, “The Sun Also Sets.”

When an ambitious actress connives with the soap’s producer to scuttle the career of the show’s beloved star, nothing works as the...

Steven Spielberg Holding Back 'Lincoln' Film Until After Election

9/21/2011 12:36pm EDT
Steven Spielberg
Steven Spielberg has decided to halt the release of his upcoming Abraham Lincoln biopic until after the 2012 election, because he doesn't want the movie to be used as "political fodder".

The legendary director has hired Daniel Day-Lewis to play the 16th U.S. president, who was assassinated in 1865, in Lincoln, alongside Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Filming is due to kick off in Virginia this autumn, but Spielberg has now revealed fans won't be able to see the movie until after America goes to the polls for the 2012 presidential election next November .

TV on DVD: 'Brothers & Sisters: The Fifth and Final Season'

8/25/2011 11:00am EDT
Brothers & Sisters
This week, ABC Home Entertainment released the fifth and final season of the award-winning Brothers & Sisters. Here's my review of the five-disc DVD set.

The Show

Brothers & Sisters (not to be confused with the late ABC series Sons & Daughters) feels familiar, because its cast is composed of many people who have had previous defining roles on television. Sally Field had her acclaimed guest stint on ER. Calista Flockhart will always be the title character from Ally McBeal to many people. Rachel Griffiths previously had a major role on Six Feet Under. These are people you've probably ...

The series featured Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Rachel Griffiths, Patricia Wettig, Rob Lowe, Ron Rifkin and Dave Annable among its all-star cast.

The final season shows Kitty moving on from her husband's death with a much younger love, Kevin & Scotty expanding their family, and Uncle Saul falling in love. Norah reconnects with an old flame, and Sarah and Luc take their relationship to the next level.

'The Amazing Spider-Man' Teaser Trailer Arrives (Watch It!)

7/20/2011 3:37pm EDT
The Amazing Spider-Man
The first teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, has officially arrived - and it looks really good, but also really familiar.

The film, which is still almost a year off, is a re-boot of the Spider-Man franchise that began in 2002 and ended in 2010 when director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire quit over issues with the script of then-planned Spider-Man 4.

So the studio forged ahead with a new telling of the story, which, according to this teaser, is basically the same story we got back in 2002 - only this time there's more focus on Spidey honin...

Gilles Marini Joins The Cast Of 'Switched At Birth'

6/15/2011 2:37pm EDT
Gilles Marini
Actor Gilles Marini has bounced back from the cancellation of his family drama Brothers & Sisters by landing a role as a dad on hit new series Switched At Birth.

The Sex and the City: The Movie star was left without a job last month when ABC network bosses chose not to renew the show, which also starred Calista Flockhart and Sally Field, for a sixth season.

However, Marini has already landed a new TV gig, scoring the role of Angelo on another drama.

TV Guide magazine first revealed the news and Marini confirmed it in a post on his page on Wednesday, writing, "As you may kn...

Field won a 2007 Outstanding Lead Actress Emmy Award for her portrayal of matriarch Nora Walker on the TV drama.

Sally Field To Play Abe Lincoln's Wife In Steven Spielberg Film

4/14/2011 9:07am EDT
Sally Field
Sally Field has signed on to play Abraham Lincoln's wife Mary Todd in Steven Spielberg's new biopic about the assassinated President.

Daniel Day-Lewis has replaced fellow Irishman Liam Neeson as the President in Lincoln.

The film is based on revered historian Doris Kearns Goodwin's book "Team of Rivals."

Spielberg is thrilled Field has agreed to play Todd. In a statement, the movie mogul says, "I've admired her films and she has always been my first choice to portray all the fragility and complexity that was Mary Todd Lincoln."

Lady Gaga Channels The Flying Nun

2/17/2011 5:00pm EST
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga signed autographs for her "little monsters" outside the "Good Morning America" studios in New York City this morning.

The star wore bizarre flesh-colored facial horns on her forehead, a white plastic hat and long dagger nails.

Is it just us or does the pop star's look resemble Sally Field's look from "The Flying Nun?" In the show, Field's character Sister Bertrille was able to fly when a strong wind caught her starched, winglike hat.

Emmy Nomination Surprises, Snubs And Shouldn't Be Nominated

How I Met Your Mother
To paraphrase Ned Flanders, apparently an Emmy nomination is easier to get than an acceptance letter from Arizona State.

This morning, Emmy tried to one-up Oscar's new rule of ten by including six nominees in the acting categories and a whopping seven in the series categories. Yes, if you made a television series this year, or appeared on one, chances are you heard your name called in North Hollywood this morning.

With so many nominess, it seems impossible that any deserving performances or series were left out. Right? Sadly, no. And, of course, there are plenty of nominees who sh...
