One take. That's all it took Anne Hathaway to land both an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress AND cement herself as the favorite to win the award.

Her brief appearance in Tom Hooper's adaptation of Les Miserables was nothing short of epic, nailing her performance of "I Dreamed A Dream" in just one take. Hathaway gives off so much emotion during the scene that it's hard to get through it with a dry eye. Not to mention she's weeping herself throughout the sad song.

Anne Hathaway once attempted to write a screenplay for a film she hoped would feature Sally Field.

The two actresses recently met up for a roundtable discussion organized by The Hollywood Reporter and Hathaway told the veteran of the project.

The Devil Wears Prada star said, "You don't know this, but I tried to write a movie for you, about a spy.

"I thought, 'Sally would be amazing, because who would ever think she was a spy?'"

Steven Spielberg has decided to halt the release of his upcoming Abraham Lincoln biopic until after the 2012 election, because he doesn't want the movie to be used as "political fodder".

The legendary director has hired Daniel Day-Lewis to play the 16th U.S. president, who was assassinated in 1865, in Lincoln, alongside Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The first teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, has officially arrived - and it looks really good, but also really familiar.

Actor Gilles Marini has bounced back from the cancellation of his family drama Brothers & Sisters by landing a role as a dad on hit new series Switched At Birth.

The Sex and the City: The Movie star was left without a job last month when ABC network bosses chose not to renew the show, which also starred Calista Flockhart and Sally Field, for a sixth season.

The pair topped a list of eligible oldies compiled by visitors to AOL's Parentdish.com, to coincide with Grandparent's Day in the U.S. on Sunday.

Hairspray stars Zac Efron and Brittany Snow are set to reteam for a remake of cheesy surf movie Gidget, according to new industry reports. Miley Cyrus is on board as wave-rider Gidget in the project, with Efron slated to play her love interest, according to MovieHole.net.

Sandra Dee originated the role of Gidget in Paul Wendkos’s 1959 original and Sally Field took over the role of Gidget in a short-lived TV series.
