Sally is my favorite actress. I used to be a member of her fan club.I think the fan club president was sick because the fan club folded. I loved watching Gidget in the 1980s and I bought the DVD. She was the reason I began watching E.R . What are her grandchildrens names and ages, I believe she has three? A grandson and two grandaughters. Every time I see her in the commercials for her bone loss medicine I think "I hope I look that good in my 60s."

I think sally is great, I remember watching her as the flying nun. I think she looks the same as she did back then-GREAT! Its nice to see an actress who isn't in to botox or other alterations, besides she has real inner beauty.

Sally Field was the epitome of cuteness when she portrayed a sweet, energetic teenager in the TV series Gidget. She developed into a gorgeous woman who so raised the talent bar with her acting skills ever since...For those of you who were offended by her political commentary, just get over it, and remember, you could have said anything you wanted while on the stage of glory as well...Freedom of Speech is alive and well in America..I so admire her beauty and courage but most of all, her amazing acting talent. She is an artist to which there is no other who has given so much and continues to do so!...Fabulous!..an ardent fan always..brian musgrave, Fresno, Ca.

i believe Sally is so many things so wonderfully packaged into one absolutely beautiful woman...i think her acting talents really coalesced and showed just what a fabulous star that was shining on the horizon when she was cast as Sybil..back in 1976..what an amazing performance that was so original and astounding!..who could walk away after seeing that and not be moved!..She has gone on to bring to light so many other fabulous things ever since...hers is a guilded history so worthy of praise from her peers, critics and all who appreciate true acting talent and ability...i just think she is a gift..that we are to cherish while we may...and long may she perform!...you Jewell of the Silver Screen!...May she find all the happiness she so deserves...

I have always had a crush on Sally, since the
first time I saw her in Gidget, into the Flying Nun, and into every movie. I now weekly look
forward to Brothers and Sisters. Sally if you read this, I just want you to know I am an unwavering friend and Fan. I went to school with Mike Hoffman, who was your soapdish director, I just missed getting to meet you when you were in Boise, Id. working with Mike. Oh well maybe another time. I just wanted you to know that I am one person who loves your work. Thanks for all the years. As ever, Michael O'Brien, Boise, Id.

The premire of Brothers and Sisters was totally amazing. Sally deserved that Emmy, and hopefully now her comments make sense. The heartache her character deals with in the premire are relatable to many mothers with sons in Iraq. She is a true inspiration. I love you Sally, and thank you for caring about my brother in Iraq, and all the soldiers.

I have been a fan of Sally Fields for a long time. We are about the same age (so kind of grew up with her films) I love her perky personality but also felt sorry for her with her broken love life. I dont really like God's name spoken in vain, but hey, most Hollywood movies have swearing in them and most people accept that! I personally wouldn't swear before a camera, but I dont condemn her either. I pray that she wil find the Lord as her personal saviour for eternal life with Him. I am sure that she meant well in her accetance speech, but I personally did not see it. God bless and save your soul, Sally.

She was one of my favorite actress's until I heard what she said at the awards. I will not buy or watch anything that she is involved in anymore. Have no use for anyone who takes God's name in vain like she did at the awards. She has a right to her opinion of the war but could share that opinion in a much better way. She lowered herself drastically as far as I am concerned.

Sally Field does not care about the mothers of sons and daughters in the war. If she did she would be involved in one of the thousands of organizations that help out with those women. In my city alone there are quite a few. I have only seen her making movies and getting facelifts. If she has so much passion why doesn't she do something about it instead of cursing on national television.
Talk is cheap Sally, and you reduced yourself to being cheap and classless.
[Report]

aspiringactress 48 Thu Sep 20 2007 18:06:49
Stop giving Sally such crap over her comments. What she meant was that mothers have a loving nature, and wish peace on this earth. She didn't mean to offend any of you mothers who have sons or daughters over seas. Get over it, she'll say what she feels, and so will you, so get over it! I want my brother to come home from Iraq, and I love Sally Fields!

Debbee 2 Thu Sep 20 2007 10:23:28
Personally, I found Ms. Fields comments offensive. Would she go to Iraq, Iran, or Afghanistan and use blasphemes to express herself? My son served three tours , honorably and saw the good that was being done. How can you say that if "Mothers ruled the world, then there would be no wars". There are some pretty wicked women out there and some really horrible mothers. If Mothers ruled the world would we be able to stop all the druck drivers from killing innocent of thousands each year on our nations highways? Where is the outrage? Oh Yeah...silly me...you don't want to go after your own. Needless to say, Sally, my family has no respect for your opinion and we will not spend one penny for any movie you are in. Try cleaning up your potty mouth and show a little class. May God bless our troops and our great country.

sarvett 1 Wed Sep 19 2007 18:00:11
tell Sally, if "Mothers ruled the world, then there would be no wars", the U.S. would be part of the Japanese territory...tell her, that is why professional writers give her the words to speak, because when she speaks on her own, ignorance pours from her mouth.

I think Sally Fields is a misguided person. I am a mother of a soldier who did his tour of duty in Iraq. And he probably will go again if he had to. If it wasn't for our wonderful sons and daughters fighting for our freedon, there would be no U.S.A. Her comment about, "If the mothers ran the world, there would be no GD wars" is a foolish comment. Mothers wouldn't be able to contain all the crazy people that want to take over this country. She should think before she speaks. I agree with Stetson. Sally Fields joins the rest of the many empty headed celebrities. She does lack a certain amount of education and a lack of vocabularly. She evidently has no respect for the God that made her. My son would be the first to forgive her and I would follow, but she is pathetic. I will turn 65 in October and can't believe she is not far behind and is that stupid with her remarks. GOD BLESS AMERICA111111111

I totally agree with Bbennett! I remember being a little girl and having my first impression of Sally Field as a nun...with my spiritual upbrining, that caused me to really admire her and put her on a pedestal ya know..... I was totally speechless when they had to actually bleep the words coming out of her mouth....It's funny....as long as I've watched her....you think you know these people...and I really thought she had more class than that. I am the proud mother of an american soldier and what she had to say were "fighting words" to me.....not that one fan will matter...but even if I tried, my morals wouldn't allow admiration of her any longer.

It's too bad Sally couldn't graciously accept her Emmy. I have always amired her and loved her acting ability. Now I will no longer be able to watch her movies and escape into the fantasy of the role she portrays, but rather I will always see her as a political activist. I believe the majority of the American public does not want to hear actor's and actress's comments about politics because most of them don't live in the real world. They just need to entertain us and shut up. I am mainly disappointed that she took the name of God in vain in front of thousands of people!

Aloha, I agree with Solitaryman. I went to 'nam myself. Sally may have lost it on the Emmy's, but I'm sure she meant no offense to mother's of soldiers, serving in the Armed Forces. As we all saw, she lost her concentration of conversation. Too bad. Maybe her appearance wouldn't have been taken so wrong.
Hey, she's sixty!
Love ya, Sally!

She only has this one body and this one life. Why mess up your only life by swearing in front of the whole world. Cursing indicates a lack of education and particularly, a lack of a vocabulary. I have always admired her acting abilities as well as her looks. She humored me upon my return from Vietnam when their was little to laugh about, just alot of people claiming their right to free speech. So what! If she has the ability and forum to use to "maybe" get a message to Washington, let her use it. Couldn't hurt, probably won't help. Thick skulls up there were probably watching Looney Tunes. Besides, when you get to be our age you say what's on your mind and don't hold back. She spoke her peace and still looks great in the process. Thank you, Sally!

I completely agree with MizBlondy. I admire Sally's acting ablilities, but why would she think we want to hear her political views? She's certainly no expert in that area. Her little speech at the Emmy's just made her look foolish and egotistical. Just say "Thank you" next time, Sally and get over yourself.

I had... past tense, such high regard and respect for Sally Field, until she opened her mouth at the Emmy's. We pay to see her moives... we pay to see her act... we dont tune in to hear her politcal beliefs or opinions. In this world of heightened political rhetoric, she had NO right to use the Emmy platform for her own personal politcal statements. If she doesnt like it, she should write her congressman or woman. God Bless all of our soliders and THEIR mothers that were innocently subjected to her vile words. GOD Bless the USA and our military.
