'Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce' Series Premiere

12/3/2014 8:29am EST
I've been a fan of Lisa Edelstein since the '80s when she was a club kid who went by the name Lisa E. So, I really want to embrace her new show that gives her the starring role as "Abby McCarthy" -- a marriage/family guru who authors a highly successful how-to-survive-it-all book series -- who must begin again post divorce. (It's like the co-author of "The Rules" about how to get and keep a man, whose husband left her. The joke was that she didn't follow her own rules.)

I don't know how long I will be able to keep watching, as the show, as well acted as it is, is rather depressing. I'm tak...

Lisa Edelstein Wants You To Eat Your Veggies As She Bares All For PETA's Latest Ad

4/12/2012 4:00pm EDT
Lisa Edelstein for PETA
Former House star Lisa Edelstein bares all for a new PETA ad promoting vegetarianism called "Eat Green To Go Green."

"Eat your veggies to help stop cruelty to animals and save the environment one bite at a time," the ad reads; "For free eco-friendly and cruelty-free recipes, visit

"Vegetarianism is a really important part of what we need to do to help the environment," says Lisa, who lies naked on a bed of delicious-looking fresh greens and vegetables; "The meat industry is really toxic to the environment. The cattle industry—besides the fact that there's a lot of cruel things h...

'House' Recap: Man Of The House

2/21/2012 10:21am EST
Last week FOX officially announced that “House” would end at the end of this season. After eight brilliant seasons, the staff of Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital will finally be hanging up the doctors’ coats. Most speculation assumes that Hugh Laurie, who has created one of television’s most memorable characters, is ready to move on. He may be right as the last several seasons of the series have been much less exciting than the early seasons, relying mostly on the “House” formula each week.

Last night’s episode, “Man of the House,” begins laying the groundwork for the series’ inevit...

Hugh Laurie Confirms 'House' Will End After This Season

2/8/2012 11:24pm EST
Hugh Laurie will hang up his cane as cranky doctor Gregory House in May after confirming hit medical drama House will end this season.

In a joint statement from Laurie and executive producers of the show David Shore and Katie Jacobs, released to the media on Wednesday, the trio announced House will not be back for a ninth season.

The press release reads, "The decision to end the show now, or ever, is a painful one, as it risks putting asunder hundreds of close friendships that have developed over the last eight years - but also because the show itself has been a source of great pride to e...

'House' Recap: Better Half

1/25/2012 12:13pm EST
After a long winter break, “House” is back with one of the best episodes of this season. Season 8 of Fox’s once great medical drama has been decent overall, but not nearly as exciting as earlier seasons. “Better Half,” though, is a perfect example of why loyal fans continue to watch House’s antics week after week, year after year.

The episode focuses on a thirty-something man named Andres (Ivo Nandi) who is suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Suffering with him is his loving and devoted wife, Natalie (Melanie Lynskey), who must constantly inform Andres of where they are and wh...

'House' Recap: Perils Of Paranoia

11/29/2011 10:50am EST
“House” has definitely kept audiences guessing this season, alternating between mediocre episodes that seem beneath the long-running show and solidly clever episodes like last night’s “Perils of Paranoia.”

The episode focuses on a criminal prosecutor, Tommy (Vincent Spano), who collapses during a trial with symptoms of a heart attack. When he gets to Princeton-Plainsboro, the ER doctors determine it wasn’t a heart attack and Foreman determines it wasn’t a panic attack. The mysterious cause is right up House’s alley so he takes the case, intrigued by Foreman’s willingness to lie to a patie...

'House' Recap: Dead & Buried

11/23/2011 9:53am EST
This week’s episode of “House” was a bit of an oddity for the series. For starters, the episode did not open with the typical prologue involving the medical mystery House and his team would have to solve. Instead, it gets right to the crux of the story or, more precisely, stories.

House tells his team that their new case involves the death of a four-year-old boy due to kidney failure, something that should never happen to a child that young. At the same time, Foreman informs House that he and his team have a new case of a teenage girl, Iris (Madison Davenport), who is having inexplicable ...

‘House’ Recap: Risky Business

11/2/2011 9:52am EDT
House 3
Because of the nature of television and the tradition of filming episodes sometimes months before they air, shows are rarely able to comment on events that are happening in the present. This week’s episode of “House,” though, echoes many of the protests that are happening with the Occupy Wall Street movement. Even though the country’s economy wasn’t doing well when the episode was filmed in the spring or summer, it is surprising how timely “Risky Business” really is.

The episode opens with a very wealthy middle-aged man, Thad (Michael Nouri), coming out of his mansion to find his trees cov...

‘House’ Recap: Twenty Vicodin

10/5/2011 7:43am EDT
Season Eight begins with an episode that, while not as ambitious or nail-biting as some of the earlier shows, is a solid setup for a season that might be one of the best. Fans of the show will remember that Season Seven ended with House (Hugh Laurie) driving his car through the dining room of his ex-girlfriend/boss Dr. Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). He then fled the country to parts unknown.

The show opens with House in front of a parole board after having served several months in prison. The scene is very reminiscent of “Ocean’s 11” and, like George Clooney as Danny Ocean, we can tell pretty qui...

Lisa Edelstein: 'I Wasn't Fired From 'House!''

9/29/2011 4:30pm EDT
Lisa Edelstein
Former House star Lisa Edelstein has hit back at reports she was fired from the hit medical drama for refusing to take a pay cut, but she doubts she'll be welcomed back for the show's final episodes next year.

The pretty brunette played Hugh Laurie's boss and lover in House and she left unexpectedly this summer amid claims she'd fallen out with TV bosses.

And although her character, Dr. Lisa Cuddy, wasn't properly written out of the show, Edelstein feels sure she won't be invited back.

She tells TV Guide magazine, "Leaving was not something I planned on doing... (but) I was definitely...

Lisa Edelstein Not Returning To 'House' For Eighth Season

5/17/2011 7:24pm EDT
Lisa Edelstein
Hugh Laurie will be returning to House without his girlfriend for the medical drama's eighth season.

Actress Lisa Edelstein has opted not to re-sign her contract and return for another season of the show, reports

Robert Sean Leonard and Omar Epps will be back with Laurie, who has hinted the next series of the hit show will be his last.

He recently told Britain's Radio Times magazine, "The end of the (eighth) season, right now, looks like the end of the show. That is as far as they have got me for."

'House' Has An Epic 'Fall From Grace,' Marries For Green Card

3/23/2011 10:54am EDT
House Fall From Grace
This week, House torments Cuddy but can’t get a rise out of her, diagnoses a young, homeless man with an allergy to vegetables, and marries a multi-tasking alien so she can get a green card. Hey kids! You really CAN be allergic to vegetables!

In the state park, two precocious boys launch a model rocket. When the parts fall from the sky aflame, they discover a young, luxuriously bearded, homeless man (Chris Marquette) has had his arm set on fire. Someone’s getting grounded for this!

House arrives at his team’s meeting on a Segway, accompanied by a gorgeous brunette. He is unimpressed with ...

'House' Takes A Dive 'Out Of The Chute'

3/15/2011 10:17am EDT
House - Out of the Chute
Last week’s incredible “Bombshells” left the “House” writers with nowhere to go but down. Cuddy’s no longer dying, but House wishes he was, as the realization that his romance is over sinks in. Can House’s return to his bacchanalistic lifestyle ease his pain?

A young and healthy cowboy mounts a bull at a rodeo. He needs to stay seated for 8 seconds to beat the bull and win the challenge. The 8 seconds pass like minutes, as the bull furiously bucks and tries to throw the rider. The cowboy succeeds, and while the rodeo clowns lead the bull away, he faces the cheering crowd triumphantly. But ...

'House' Star Lisa Edelstein Stars In Ad About Women's Reproductive Rights

2/16/2011 8:19am EST
Lisa Edelstein
"House" star Lisa Edelstein has filmed a harrowing new TV ad in which she acts out an abortion gone wrong.

The actress plays a 1950s woman staggering down a dark hallway in the new MoveOn commercial, which takes aim at Republicans, who are seeking to stamp out medical insurance coverage for abortions.

The ad illustrates the dangerous conditions women historically faced around reproductive choices.

Edelstein states, "Decades ago, women suffered through horrifying back alley abortions. Or, they used dangerous methods when they had no other recourse."

The ad goes on to point out that the R...

Lisa Edelstein
Yesterday Lisa Edelstein attended a Bvlgari benefit event in Beverly Hills looking quite shapely in a silver sequined dress.

Earlier this month Lisa won Favorite TV Drama Actress for "House" at the People's Choice Awards.

Fun facts about Lisa:

-She is a vegan and has trouble finding shoes that don't have leather on them.
-She speaks Spanish.
-She wrote and performed in the AIDS-related musical "Positive Me" in Manhattan. It was one one of the earliest AIDS-related theater productions.

'House' Recap - 'Small Sacrifices'

11/23/2010 5:56pm EST
It's been awhile since an opening scene on 'House' actually made me cringe, but this was one of them. The episode starts with a man carrying a cross, obviously doubling the crucifiction of Jesus Christ, and he actually is nailed to the cross. Cue wincing from all of the audience. I thought at first it would be a movie actor or something, but no, the patient of the week is a deeply religious man who crucifies himself since God saved his daughter from cancer. Which means it'll be another episode of House vs. God, and the patient will provide all kinds of handicaps for the doctors as they try ...

'House' Recap - 'Unplanned Parenthood'

10/19/2010 3:35pm EDT
House and Rachel
Last week House traded his massage therapist/former lover for the chance to be more in Cuddy's life and meet her daughter. He might just be regretting it this week! Cuddy asks him to babysit for Rachel when everyone else can't do it, and although he argues and whines, he agrees to do it in the end. This is why he spends most of the episode panicking with Wilson about Rachel and not paying much attention to his actual case. It's about another child who is dying, and instead of two years she's two days old.

The baby has complications right out of birth and we see it happen on a home video th...

'House' Recap - 'Unwritten'

10/5/2010 3:05pm EDT
Hugh Laurie and Amy Irving
Amy Irving guest stars in this week's episode of House, and it must be said that she does a fantastic job. Her character is a brilliant but disturbed children's book author, and she has written her final book. She speaks to the image of her main character like he is a real person, and puts a gun in her mouth. Before she can kill herself, she has a seizure and falls over. Her nurse calls 911, and House it turns out is a big fan of her series. It's the little funny details about House that always works for him, such as his love for soap opera and teen novels. Alice is the writer and House has...

'House' Recap - 'Selfish'

9/28/2010 3:01pm EDT
House Selfish
House is like a giddy schoolboy at times in this episode, and it's even more endearing then the over-romantic attitude from the last episode. He waits for Cuddy to get to the hospital and flirts with her, then gropes her as long as she'll allow it, and she tells him not to announce it the world until they go to HR. Aw, Cuddy, you wish. He immediately announces to his team and Wilson that he's sleeping with her, and it's almost sweet how excited he seems to be about it. He's snarky and acerbic as always, but you can tell that underneath House really is on the almost hopeful side. Naturally e...

Which Famous & Sexy TV Star Is Behind The Mask?

9/27/2010 5:00pm EDT
Olivia Wilde
One of our favorite actresses from a popular FOX television show attended the LACMA Presents "Unmasking": The Lynda and Stewart Resnick Exhibition Gala over the weekend. Take a guess who the star is...

It's Olivia Wilde from "House!" The program is getting a bit saucy lately. The new season of Hugh Laurie's hit show opened with lovemaking scenes between himself and castmate Lisa Edelstein, and the media went berserk with one compromising press shot, in which a naked Laurie's genitals were covered by a laptop.

Meanwhile, over the summer Lisa talked about her fascination with prostitutes. ...

'House' Recap - 'Now What?'

9/21/2010 1:06pm EDT
House Now What?
House is back, and it starts things off right by having brand new credits. Seven seasons in and they finally changed the credits! Jennifer Morrison is officially off them, with Peter Jacobson and Olivia Wilde added on. This has been driving fans crazy since the new cast members joined, so it's about time and it really freshened things up from the get go. This premiere is different in a lot of ways from a typical House episode, and that's just one of them.

First off, this doesn't exactly have much of a medical mystery, and it is much more focused on picking up where the last finale ended. T...

Evangeline Lilly Finds Love On 'Lost' Set Again

However, Lilly will have her own personal memento to take home with her - 28-year-old production worker Norman Kali. A source tells the National Enquirer, "Lost certainly has been very good for Evie's love life."

'House' Recap - Season 6 Finale

5/19/2010 9:15am EDT
House Season 6 finale
Despite the fact that some House seasons can be bland, they always manage to pull out big things for the finale. Season one Stacy moved back to torment House, the second season House got shot, the third season his entire team quit, the fourth season Amber died, and the fifth season House went crazy and checked himself into a mental institute. This season went in a similar depressing path although it did manage to end on a possible good note. Will that last? Very unlikely. Was it still finally worth it? You know, it actually was!

A horrible accident has happened in New Jersey. A crane opera...

'House' Recap: 'Baggage'

5/11/2010 4:25pm EDT
One of the admirable things about the showrunners of House is that though it is a procedural, they enjoy playing with the formula and shoot certain episodes in a unique fashion. The first time they did this successfully was in season one with the incredible episode "Three Stories," which is still on the top five list of House episodes ever. This week's episode was a bit like that, playing with perspective and memory, and it is all about how Gregory House is going to probably have a breakdown soon. But he did that last year, you might cry. Yes, pretty much every year, actually.

House is in ...

The actress, who plays hospital boss Dr. Lisa Cuddy in the hit TV medical drama, admits she feels pressure to find get married and have kids.

However, Edelstein insists turning 44 on May 21st won't push her to commit. She says, "Sometimes yeah (I feel pressure). The thing is that as a woman I don't think you can avoid coming to terms with the end of your fertility in your life.

"There's just so much pressure in society - from Hollywood, from religion, from ...

'House' Recap: 'The Choice'

5/4/2010 3:30pm EDT
House Recap- The Choice
House is trudging along toward the end of its sixth season, and if they are going to start making sweeping changes in time for the season finale, they are definitely setting the groundwork for it now. Wilson might kick House out, Cuddy and House have a moment, and Thirteen's disease might be rearing its head for real. The latter was always an interesting query. While it wasn't her fault for having a genetic disease, it does pose a problem in terms of liability that she works on patients. With her hands eventually shaking out of control, she could accidentally split open a patient on an easy...
