American actress and model Karen Duffy was born on May 23, 1962, in New York City. Karen graduated from Park Ridge High School in New Jersey in 1979 and earned a Bachelors degree from the University of Colorado. While modeling after college she became a VJ on MTV in 1991, which led her into acting when she got the famous role as J.P. Shay in the comedy classic "Dumb and Dumber." She also had major parts in the films "Reality Bites," "Blank Check" and "Meet Wally Sparks." Karen's television credits include "Fade to Black" and "House of Tiny Terrors," and she lent her voice to the kid's show "Pepper Ann." In 1995, she was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, a disease of the central nervous system, and on Feb. 28, 1997, she married John Lambros and they have a son named John.
