Doris Day is one of the greatest of stars of Hollywood.

With one of the greatest singing voices ever,( her recordings of
"Sentimental Journey" "Que Sera Sera" are part of forklore) Miss Day made many fine movie musicals most of the time at Warners, however Miss Day's great movie career took off after a series of films after she left Warners and went to work at Universal with the sure guiding hand of producer Ross Hunter. Starring with Rock Hudson in the classic "Pillow Talk" which garnered Miss Day an Oscar nomination, Miss Day went on to make "Lover Come Back" with Hudson and with James Garnder in "The Thrill of It All" and the mystery "Midnight Lace" with Rex Harrison. Miss Day was the bigget box office draw of her generation and single handedly may have saved Universal from going out of business.

Miss Day is now retired in her home in Carmel and shuns all appearances, this is sad for I join many in hoping the Academy will award her an Honorary Oscar for great performances in films like the aforementioned "Pillow Talk" but also the drama "Love Me or Leave Me" at MGM with James Cagney and Hitchcocks suspense film "The Man Who Knew Too Much" with James Stewart at Paramount.

Miss Day was #1 Female Star at the Box Office for 4 consecutive years, a record that holds to this day and likely will never be topped.

I am very lucky to discover Doris Day, from Altsvista Search Engine.I remember her famous song"Que sera sera" hearing that I fell in love with Spanish Language and ultimately , I learnt it.Being an ardent fan,I like to hear mere from her in Spanish.

I'm a huge fan of Doris Day. She's a great actress and has a very distinctive singing voice.
I love all her films particularly Calamity Jane. Good health to her to continue her work with her Animal League.
