TV's Most Kick-Ass Female Detectives

February 16th, 2009 9:00am EST
Cagney and Lacey
Once upon a television season, fans of police dramas and crime procedurals didn't think detectives could ever get more hard-boiled than Vic Mackey of "The Shield" or Andy Sipowicz of "NYPD Blue." Thankfully, we were wrong. Not only are there an increasing number of take-no-prisoners police detectives and home-sleuths on the case, but many of them are wearing skirts. From Poppy Montgomery, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Roselyn Sanchez in "Without A Trace" to Kathryn Morris in "Cold Case," "Law and Order's" S. Epatha Merkerson and the women of the CSI franchise, powerful, well-written female pro...

Actors & Actresses We Want To Return To TV

October 31st, 2008 10:16am EDT
Lauren Graham
While TV gives us one reality program after another, there are quite a few talented thespians that seem to be out of a job. Here's a list of TV actors we want to return to the small screen:

Lauren Graham

Let's be honest: she was the real star on Gilmore Girls. Rory's constant whining started getting tiresome around the third episode. And yes, we all had an opinion on the "Dean or Jess" question, but the real issue was when Lorelai and Luke would eventually get together. In the course of the show Graham defined the character of Lorelai and revealed herself to be a radiant, gifted a...

Our Favorite Girls With Guns

October 30th, 2008 2:34pm EDT
Angelina Jolie
Long before Angelina Jolie (or Sarah Palin for that matter) ever picked up a gun, hot chicks in movies and TV have been packing heat. Kate Jackson (who turns 60 this week!) and the other stars of the original "Charlie’s Angels" inspired a generation of girls to feather their hair and kick butt.

Here’s our list of the top 15 gun-toting beauties, past and present. Doesn’t matter what side of the law they’re on. All that counts here is how they look wielding a piece.

See our Girls With Guns Flipbook here.

15. Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, and Kate Jackson in Charlie’s Angels

Back from the Dead: TV Shows That Survived Cancellation

May 8th, 2008 8:22am EDT
Jericho
Shows are canceled all the time. This time the victim was "Men In Trees," a show that jumped timeslots, disappeared for months at a time, and was finally put out of its misery by ABC. It wasn't exactly a surprise the network canceled it. Who knew it was still on? (Fans can catch the final few episodes when it airs again beginning May 28.)

But what doesn't happen all the time is second chances. Once a television show is canceled (a.k.a. axed, yanked, cut, punted, escorted off the premises, etc.) by its network, it ceases to exist. Normally, that is the case...but not always. After al...

Need Something To Watch? Check Out BBC America (They Have More Than Funny Accents)

January 4th, 2008 12:59pm EST
Torchwood
Oh these cold winter months. In years past we could warm ourselves with the knowledge that our favorite shows would return in the new year and provide us with solid entertainment until May. Unfortunately all that changed this year.

With the Writers Guild of America still on the picket lines, faithful television watchers must look elsewhere for new entertainment. This means venturing into the uncharted realm of expanded digital cable. Nestled within this wasteland of depravity and cooking shows lies BBC America. Is it a beacon of light in the darkness? We'd like to think that it is. So...

The entire original score for The Enforcer has never been released, only excerpts from the score appeared on the original soundtrack LP.

The Enforcer, of course starred Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry Call...
