Best Oscar Fashion Of The Last Decade
The Academy Awards have always been the pinnacle of yearly fashion, an opportunity for the world’s most glamorous stars to slip into something silky and ham it up for cameras. Since the first annual instance of the event in 1929, the show has evolved from a moderate dinner party into an elaborate red carpet extravaganza. Who could forget some of Oscars showiest red carpet moments, from Cher’s feathered headgear and strappy leather get-up, to Bjork’s swan dress, to Gwyneth Paltrow’s elegant pink Calvin Klein? The last ten years have been decidedly less insane, but several stars have still ma...

Can Meryl Streep Win A Third Oscar? Ever?
Meryl Streep hasn’t won an Oscar since 1982.
Most people don’t remember that because it feels like groups hand her awards like they’re flyers on street corners. But she’s deserved most of them, and she should probably be on her fourth or fifth Oscar by now.
This year, she has a good chance playing Margaret Thatcher in ‘The Iron Lady.’ The trailer alone promises that she is fantastic in the movie. Her performance has been buzzed about for months, and she’s been a front-runner for the Oscar longer than any other actor or movie this year. The problem is, most of the time she’s considered th...

Review 'Contagion' - Two Jews' Are Immune To Soderbergh's Medical Thriller (Video)
Two Jews on Film - By Joan Alperin Schwartz: An international traveler reaches into the snack bowl at an airport bar before passing her credit card to a waiter. A business meeting begins with a round of handshakes. A man coughs on a crowded bus.
One contact. One instant. And a lethal virus is transmitted.
Great premise. Great beginning. But unfortunately, that's not enough to make a great film.

Fall 2011 Movie Preview: September
The end of the year is always the most exciting time for true movie lovers as the studios release the films they hope to compete in the race for the many awards shows that will happen early next year. This September will have some decent films to choose from (namely "Contagion" and "Drive"), but with a greater amount of less-than-impressive fare than is normally seen. Either way, this first month in the awards season will have moviegoers flocking to the cinema nearly every weekend.

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies - 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,' & 'Midnight in Paris'
I still have not had the opportunity to see the much talked about “Thor,” which seems to be receiving mixed reviews from everyone I know. Some people I’ve spoken to have loved it, while others have despised it, so I will have to see it for myself soon.
Last week though, I checked out the indie drama “Hesher” starring Rainn Wilson, Natalie Portman, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt which I loved. It’s definitely not your typical story of recovery from grief, mainly because of the character Hesher, played by Gordon Levitt.
