Ryan Phillippe Splits From Abbie Cornish
Ryan Phillippe is single again after Abbie Cornish ended their relationship and moved out of their California home. Cornish was spotted moving her belongings out of their joint property in Los Angeles on Sunday, prompting speculation the couple had split.

A representative for Cornish has now confirmed the Australian actress is no longer dating Phillippe, telling People.com, "Abbie ended the relationship with Ryan and she moved out of their home."

Her spokesperson would not confirm the reason behind the break up. The former couple met on the set of Stop-Loss in 2006 and began dating ...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'The Informant,' 'Jennifer's Body' & More

September 14th, 2009 9:32am EDT
The Informant
Last week, the long weekend gave me a chance to see "District 9" in the movie theater. The film's science fiction elements took a back seat to its moral objective however, which was roughly to serve as an allegory for the Apartheid in South Africa.

Treatment of the aliens by humans, as a subhuman species really becomes emotionally jarring through the intense blood and gore that comprise the latter half of the movie. Audiences ultimately walk away from "District 9" disgusted by the inhumanity of the human race.

A nontraditional narrative, "District 9" is largely told through the use ...

Stars Haunted By Past Relationships

May 27th, 2009 9:43am EDT
Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey
In the recent film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Matthew McConaughey's character is visited by three ghosts: past, present, and future. In the process, he sees how he has treated past girlfriends, checks out how he is treating his current girlfriend, and sees what might happen if he continues his foolish ways. McConaughey isn't the only one who has been haunted by relationships; in fact, we've all been haunted by an ex at some point in our lives. Lucky for us, though, we don't have the entire world watching us as we continuously morn over the one who got away, or as we bump into situations...

Workplace Romance: Costars Who Fell In Love

August 19th, 2008 12:08pm EDT
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
It is widely acknowledged that workplace romances are a definite no-no; clearly, some famous actors and actresses didn't get the memo. From classic romantic duos Bogey/Bacall and Spencer/Tracy to contemporary pairings like "Bennifer" and "Brangelina", since the inception of cinema, thespians have taken on-set relationships from reel-life to real-life.

Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland's hearts skipped a beat while filming Flatliners (1990). Tom Cruise admired a young Aussie actress named Nicole Kidman and had her cast opposite him in Days of Thunder. The movie Seven ended with Gwynet...

Blanchett Shines While 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age' Burns

October 11th, 2007 10:35am EDT
Elizabeth: The Golden Age
It is hard to know what to expect when coming into Elizabeth: The Golden Age, a delayed sequel of a film that 10 years prior had been a heavy player at the Oscars. Back then, the film centered around the performance of Cate Blanchett, who stunned viewers with her complex portrayal of the loose cannon lover who becomes England’s famous virgin monarch. (A Queen and Oscar buzz? Sound familiar? It should! See Oscar Queen Facts at bottom of page.)

Blanchett does a superb job, but this film has a hard time finding its center and its pains dull the effort of a strong cast.
