Sofia Coppola will direct a live-action version of 'The Little Mermaid'.
The filmmaker has reportedly set her sights on Hans Christian Andersen's tragic fairy tale as her next project after 2013's 'The Bling Ring', and is in negotiations to bring the classic children's story to life on the big screen, is reporting.
Fans shouldn't expect a repeat of Disney's bubblegum 1989 cartoon version about aquatic princess Ariel and talking crab Sebastian, however.

Lost In Translation director Sofia Coppola and her partner, French "rocker" Thomas Mars are second-time parents, according to reports.

Coppola gave birth "within the last month" to the couple's second baby girl, named Cosmina, reports The tot will be a little sister for the couple's three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Romy. Coppola and Mars, the frontman for the band Phoenix, announced the pregnancy in December.

The couple began dating in 2005.

The remaining two "Twilight" films are set to get a 'musical' twist - former Oscars boss and "Dreamgirls" director Bill Condon is in talks to take charge of the split "Breaking Dawn" movies.
