Television newswoman Connie Chung was born on August 20, 1946, in Washington, D.C. She is the daughter of a high-ranking Taiwanese diplomat. Connie earned a degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and began her career as a correspondent for the CBS evening news with Walter Cronkite in the early 1970s. In her network television profession, she's worked for ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC, and then in 2006, Connie with her husband Maury Povich, whom she married in 1984, began hosting the show "Weekends with Maury and Connie."
