Thank you Cracco! We had a 10 course meal at this delicious restaurant. We were sat at a table in the kitchen with Carlo Cracco taking care of us. If you're ever in Milan, I highly recommend it. One of my favorite dining experiences ever.
What are your favorite restaurants? I travel a lot and love to go to new places. xxjes

Ok so you guys wanted pics with the other actors, but I was too shy to ask them. So here is one of my costars in the film! She so sweet & makes A TON of noise. Makes me miss Chaplin. I wish it wasn't so difficult to bring a dog into the country.

This is the great Joan Washington. She's an incredible dialect coach & I've had the pleasure of working with her on 4 projects; The Debt, Poirot, Coriolanus, and now Miss Julie. There's a lot that goes in to creating a character. Most people think it's juct the actor, but there's a huge team of help.

60,000!!!!!!!!!! It's so wonderful! Can you believe that it's tripled since Christmas? Thank you all for contributing so much to this page. It's wonderful to read all of your comments.
Ok everybody, here's a pic for you. I guess I've always been on the creative side. What a goofy kid, right?

If you guys are looking for something to do this weekend, I recommend you see the film MUD. It's the latest film by Jeff Nichols' (my friend & director of Take Shelter). Tye Sheridan is out of this world GREAT in his first leading role. Do you remember him as one of my boys in The Tree os Life? He's so talented, but more important, he's a sweetheart. Tye is like walking sunshine. xxjes

Happy Earth Day!
My favorite time of day is just as the sun is beginning to rise. A quiet peace, and slowly, the sounds of birds bring on the morning. My heart is filled with gratitude for this beautiful home we share.
Here's a bit from The Tree of Life. It's the birth of our earth.

58,000 likes?! Incredible!
Ok I owe you some news. I'll try to answer the filming questions that were asked. For Miss Julie, I'm doing an English accent while Colin and Samantha are doing Northern Irish. Castle Coole is where we're shooting. It feels so easy to fall into the story when in an environment that supports it. No green screens or studio lots on this one. Liv is constantly pulsating with emotion, I'm hoping that her beautiful openness and vulnerability finds it's way into my performance.
On another subject- I'm sorry that Tarzan didn't work out.... but trust me.....you'll feel better when you hear the cool stuff I have in the works : )
Oh & also....I'll post a gift for you guys when we reach 60,000!

Today was a great first day. Thank you for all of your comments. Here's my gift to you - a song that always makes me smile. While we were shooting Zero Dark Thirty in Chandigarh, India, my dear friend Edgar Ramirez and I would rock out to this song, to and from the set. I'm not kidding, we memorized the words and sang it everyday. Thank goodness for such positive energy.
I actually got to meet Shah Rukh Khan while I was a juror at the Marrakech Film Festival. He even did a tiny bit of the dance onstage. I can report he was very nice to all his fans.
Ok guys. Listen. I dare you not to smile. xxjes

I am so terribly sad to hear that Roger Ebert died yesterday. I grew up watching the show "At the Movies". His love of film was infectious. While I dreamed of being an actor, he taught me about cinema. I will always be grateful for his wisdom. And I will always remember those moments I could forget my troubles and dream that someday Roger Ebert would give my film two thumbs up. xxjes

"I want to express something about humanity in my work- something with which one can identify, and which will convey the message that it is possible for people to 'belong'. That it is possible to long for that. So that those who have always felt on the outside can understand that we experience it together. The longing." - Liv Ullman
Every day is like a dream. I'm learning so much from this beautiful woman. Are you guys familiar with Liv's work? What's your favorite film of hers? Mine is Persona xxjes

Hey guys, it's the middle of the night in Ireland and I can't sleep. Working with Liv Ullman is very exciting and a bit nerve-racking. She's a genius and I'm beyond thrilled to work on this project.
So after an hour of staring at my ceiling, I got up and looked again at the sweet birthday comments you all left me. I feel so incredibly lucky to have such beautiful support on this page and wish I could give each of you a hug. Thank you for your kind notes, I loved my birthday xxjes

In honor of the Italian release of Mama, I wanted to share a behind the scenes pic with you guys. This is me and Javier Botet, the very talented actor who played Mama...how many of you thought it was all CGI?? Hope those of you in Italy get a chance to go out and see the film in theatres! xxjes

I know my responses haven't been as personal as they used to be, but thank you all for continuing to post - I love reading everything. I also love the pics you've been posting with the dvds of Zero Dark Thirty, you reminded me that's it's now available. I hope those of you that didn't have a chance to catch it in theaters will get a chance to see it at home. It's a film that I'm very proud to be a part of.
Because Maya will always stay with me, I was reminded of her when reading this cartoon. She's such a little firecracker. I hope you all enjoy xxjes

Ok here's pic of me geeking out on my YSL campaign. I was in Paris for fashion week and look what I stumbled upon! It was as tall as a building! It was super embarrassing but I had to jump out of my car and seize the moment. I mean, how many times does a girl get a billboard over the Seine River!?! It's so lovely and I wanted to share it with you all. Manifesto is now available in the U.S., it’s such a gorgeous scent - jasmine is my favorite and it’s the thread of the perfume. Hope you all enjoy xxjes
