Lindsay Lohan's much maligned portrayal of screen legend Elizabeth Taylor is facing some stiff competition - Helena Bonham Carter is to tackle the role for a new U.K. TV drama. 

The embattled Mean Girls star's portrayal of Taylor in Lifetime's 2012 film Liz & Dick was savaged by critics, who were left far from impressed with her performance, and now BBC executives are hoping to show her how it's done after hiring Bonham Carter to play the Cleopatra star in a project titled Burton and Taylor.
