The Walking Dead
In this episode, new drama ensues when Dave & Tony's friends come looking for them; Rick learns about the threat Shane truly represents.

---

Lori awakens in her overturned car as a walker tries to pry his way into a hole in the windshield.

At the bar, Rick and Glenn scavenge weapons and ammunition from the bodies of Dave and Tony when they suddenly see headlights. The two of them and Hershel duck for cover and hear the voices of three men approaching the bar, calling for Dave and Tony.

Lori struggles with the walker, finally wrenching her wiper controls free and stabbing them into its ...

The Walking Dead - Sophia
In the mid-season finale, secrets come tumbling out about Hershel's farm and its inhabitants.

---

At Hershel's farm, the group somberly makes breakfast as Maggie looks on from the farmhouse porch. Glen announces abruptly that the barn is full of walkers. The group heads for the barn, peeking inside to verify Glen's story. Shane heatedly confronts Rick about dealing with the situation or leaving, but Rick is reluctant since Sophia hasn't been found. Shane insists that Sophia is long gone. Rick begs for the opportunity to discuss with Hershel. Dale reveals that he already knew about the wal...

'The Walking Dead' Recap 2x06 'Secrets' Is Filled With Secrets, Secrets And Even More Secrets

Last time on The Walking Dead: Andrea shot Daryl because she’s a hot-headed moron and Glenn discovered a horde of Walkers in the barn. Also Lori is pregnant.

Carl and Lori feed some chickens. Patricia feeds some chickens to the horde of Walkers. What is going on over here?

Glenn tries to get Maggie to tell him why Hershel is keeping the Walkers, but she just tells him to keep a secret. Dear, sweet Glenn is a horrible liar. I predict he’ll tell Dale within 30 minutes.

Andrea apologizes for shooting Daryl. Daryl is a much nicer person than I am and forgives her... on the condition ...

'The Walking Dead' Recap 2x05: 'Chupacabra' Drags On, Ends With A Bang

We open with a flashback. Before Rick woke up from his coma, when Shane and Lori and Carl were on the run from the Walkers, a crowd of people waits on the freeway. Carol offers to share some food with Carl and Lori. Carol’s jerk of an abusive husband (whose name I’ve forgotten because he’s such an abusive jerk) intimidates Carol into keeping the food. Shane and Lori venture up the road to investigate. Carl and Sophia start to make friends. Helicopters fly over the highway. The ‘copters are dropping bombs on Atlanta--Lori fears for Rick’s life.

Real time: Lori wakes up, prepares for...

When we last left our plucky zombie fighters, Shane used a not-quite-innocent-but-probably-still-nice man to save Carl's life. Sophia is still missing, but Rick and his crew have found refuge with Hershel Greene and his family at their farm.

The gang rides up to the Greene Farm. Carl wakes up. He’s alive! He asks after Sophia, so naturally Rick lies through his teeth and tells Carl she’s fine. They bury Otis (also known as the idiot who shot Carl). Shane feels ridiculously guilty that he basically killed Otis. Otis’ wife asks Shane to say a few words. Shane doesn’t want to... but...

Shane and The Idiot (I’ve already forgotten his name), run from the Walkers in the high school. In a voice over, Rick tells Lori about the time Shane stole the principal’s car while they were in school, drove it three miles away and ran back in time to finish his lunch. Rick tells Lori that Carl will be all right--that Shane will make it back in time. In the RV, Daryl patrols for Sophia. Andrea joins him.

Shane and the idiot are cornered on the top of the bleachers in the gym. The Idiot selflessly offers to get off the bleachers and give Shane cover while Shane escapes through a wi...

Last week we left our gang of plucky zombie killers in a bad place. Sophia is missing and Carl was shot. We pick them up this week with a flashback. Lori is outside a school. She talks with a friend about a fight she had with Rick. She blames herself for the argument. Lori isn’t 100% sure that she loves Rick. A sheriff car screeches to a halt in front of her. It’s Shane. He looks really, really sad. Lori knows why he’s there. She asks if Rick is alive and Shane tells her he’s in surgery. Shane tells Lori that it was his fault, but Lori dismisses this. Carl exits the school. Lori...

AMC's Darabont Free Season 2 Premiere Emotionally Empty - My Goodbye To "The Walking Dead"

October 17th, 2011 8:10pm EDT
The Walking Dead
I must admit the only reason I got into "The Walking Dead" in the first place was the creative team of filmmaker Frank Darabont and KNB effects maestro Greg Nicotero. (Sorry AMC – you’re not that great on your own!) Being a movie guy all the way who doesn’t watch much TV, I was interested to see if the dynamic duo could convert a cinema lover like me to the boob tube week after week. The pilot episode was some of the best TV I’ve ever seen, not to mention pure Darabont, with zombie fun but also a distinctively dramatic and emotional through line you can only get with a director of that c...

The season two premiere of 'The Walking Dead' opens with Rick talking to Morgan on the walkie. He brings him up to speed on what they learned at the CDC. The group is moving on to Fort Benning, which is 125 miles away. The gang packs up and drives away. Daryl rides a super sweet motorcycle with high handlebars. In the truck, Lori talks about the time they went to the Grand Canyon, but Carl got sick in Fort Worth and they turned back. Carl asks to go again sometime.

In the RV, Shane teaches Andrea how to use the gun her father gave her and Amy before they left on their road trip. The grou...

The Message From 'The Walking Dead' Premiere - 'Expect More Of Everything With Heightened Suspense'

October 5th, 2011 1:00pm EDT
THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 2
"The Walking Dead" red carpet premiere was filled with juicy tidbits about the season to come, as well as insights into the characters we grew to love. I had the honor of interviewing many of the cast and crew of AMC's hit show (season two premieres Sunday October 16, 9/8 central).

Perhaps the most exciting new development in season two is that the gang, having left Atlanta, will take shelter with Hershel Greene and his family on their farm. The Greenes are also characters in the comic books, so fans of the original series will recognize some familiar faces. The new family means new dynami...

Mama Scofield Enters The Picture On 'Prison Break'

December 23rd, 2008 10:58am EST
Prison Break
It's fall finale time on "Prison Break," folks. Thus far, the season has been chock full of revelations, lies, betrayals, plot twists (both conceivable and far out) and of course, deaths. Plenty of deaths. Did the body count continue to climb in this final episode of 2008? Have we been provided with some answers, or just more questions? Most importantly, has T-Bag's facial hair changed for the third episode in a row?

Lincoln in Charge (of our days, and our nights)

Having been given his mission to reclaim Scylla by The General (Leon Russom), Lincoln finds himself in charge of ...

Spiritual Visions And Company Men On 'Prison Break'

Prison Break
As we head towards the fall finale, things on "Prison Break" continue to heat up. Allegiances may have shifted (again), but Scylla remains the focus of nearly everyone's attention. When last we left our old friends, Michael (Wentworth Miller) had been taken in by The Company, and The General (Leon Russom) had struck a "bargain" (word of the day, right Pee-Wee?) with Lincoln (Dominic Purcell). The deal? If Lincoln and his friends are able to successfully return Scylla to The General, Big G will remove that nasty tumor from Michael's brain. Seems reasonable, right? Let's see if everyone...

The Chaos Continues On 'Prison Break'

Prison Break
Say what you will about "Prison Break," but if there is one thing that it has not been these past few weeks, it's predictable. While the series has always been prone to wild plot twists, quadruple-crosses and plenty of violence, things have really elevated to another level ever since the gang got the best of The General (Leon Russom) a few episodes ago.

Word of the Day: Gas

Things pick up right where they left off last week, with Self (Michael Rapaport) needing a final chip for Scylla, a chip that Michael (Wentworth Miller) possesses. Last week Michael invited Self to "come and...

Just Like The Good Old Days On 'Prison Break'

Prison Break
Last night's episode of "Prison Break" was probably the most reminiscent of season 2's unpredictability and general awesomeness that we have seen all year. Folks, that says a lot. Self's betrayal has shaken things up in a major way, altering the relationships of most of the characters and institutions that we have come to know and love (or hate). Throw in a few double-crosses and a few more deaths, and we've got one heck of an episode.

Michael Rapaport, how could you?

The gang still can't believe that they were set up by agent Don Self (Michael Rapaport). While the rest of the...

It's Plot Twists A Go-Go On 'Prison Break'

When we left off last week, Michael (Wentworth Miller) had finally gotten his hands on Scylla but ended up tripping a silent alarm in the process. As he sat the staring at the machine in awe, The General (Leon Russom) was making his way down with several armed men in tow. So how did Michael work his way out of that one? There's that and so much more today, on "Prison Break: The Recap!" Roll Credits.

The General Gets Outgeneraled

Last week, Michael seemed awfully foolish as he just sat there, mesmerized by Scylla, completely unaware of the fact that he had tripped a silent ala...

Things are starting to heat up on "Prison Break" as the ol' gang inches closer towards uncovering the secrets of Scylla. The double crosses will continue to pile up, and in true "Prison Break" fashion, the body count probably will as well. Before all that though, there is a matter of drilling. Lots more drilling.

Where is Tom Cruise when you need him?

Michael (Wentworth Miller) needs surgery (remember that massive tumor that he has growing on that freakishly genius brain of his?) and he is refusing to get it. Mahone (William Fichtner) tries to convince him to go get the tumor ...

One Step Closer To Scylla On 'Prison Break'

With Termie out of the picture and The General thinking that everyone is dead, the gang on Prison Break has a little window in which to find Scylla before it is moved. Will they take advantage of this opportunity? Or will Bellick's death be in vain?

Mourning

Everyone is in a very somber mood after Bellick's sacrifice. It is kind of hard to believe that the level of grief the gang is feeling over Bellick's death is so high, as until quite recently he was despised by pretty much all of the major characters. Then again, these guys (and gal) have been through quite a lot together...

A Long Expected Betrayal On 'Prison Break'

This week on "Prison Break," the gang finally was subject to a long-expected (at least by viewers) betrayal by computer wunderkind/all around dirtbag Roland. While this plot development was hardly a twist, there were enough interesting tidbits, plot developments and action to keep things rolling and provide us loyal viewers with another exciting installment.

Those were the days…

We start off this week with an exciting flashback from Lincoln's past, back in his days of depravity. Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) and his companion have a job to do, and it involves brute force (hence why ...

This Week on 'Prison Break:' Blood Feuds, Indecent Proposals... and Vegas!

Prison Break
The best season of "Prison Break" thus far was season 2. Sure, purists had a problem with it ("they're no longer in prison!); but as far as unpredictability, craziness, and sheer fun are concerned, it was unmatched. Well, that might all be about to change. Season 4 might have started off a little unevenly, but if the past few episodes are any indication, the journey to the season (and perhaps series) finale is going to be quite a trip.

Not So Strange Bedfellows

We left off last week with T-Bag (Robert Knepper), having just fled from a suspicious associate at Gate, frantically r...

'Prison Break' Recap: Breaking Into Federal Buildings In 30 Minutes Or Less

September 23rd, 2008 11:50am EDT
Prison Break
Thanks to fare such as "24" and "Prison Break," Monday night has become synonymous with over-the-top, illogical, nonsensical, but nevertheless eminently enjoyable escapist programming. Naturally, with an all new episode of "Prison Break" airing last night, that trend continued. And it was good. "Prison Break" good (which really is a classification all of its own), but there is one caveat. If there is one thing that "Prison Break" usually isn't, it's formulaic. However, in recent weeks, the hunt for the data cards has become just a little repetitive. Thankfully, there is enough jolly o...

So what happened this week on "Prison Break?" Did the gang find another card? Did someone get killed? Were there any major plot holes? Was it entertaining? No need for suspense...the answer to all those questions is yes. You shouldn't be surprised. This is "Prison Break," after all.

The Obligatory MiSa Pandering

'Prison Break' Recap: Someone Dies, Lincoln Sweats, Michael Saves the Day

Prison Break
Last week's lengthy, exciting, confusing and show-changing season premiere effectively (or ineffectively, depending on how you look at it) put the Sona storyline to rest and brought the action back to the U.S. New characters were introduced; both heroes and villains. There were awkward, inexplicable reunions, shocking losses, hasty exists, and of course the obligatory Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) brawl. So, how was the follow-up, now that the story arc of the season has been established? Pretty solid, even if it did lack an appearance from everybody's favorite Revlon Girl (Jodi Ly...
