Actress Sarah Wayne Callies was born on June 1, 1977, in La Grange, Illinois, but she moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where she graduated from Punahou High School in 1995. Sarah also graduated from Dartmouth University and received a Master in Fine Arts degree from Denver's National Theatre Conservatory. She made her first television appearance on "Queens Supreme" and had her first starring role as detective Jane Porter on the short-lived TV series "Tarzan." Later Sarah went on to have guest roles on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Dragnet," and "Numb3rs," but she is best known for her role as Dr. Sara Tancredi on the Fox hit show "Prison Break." Sarah splits her time between New York City and Toronto, and when she's not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, playing chess and cooking.
After a number of small roles on various television shows, Hawaiian-raised actress Sarah Wayne Callies gained prominence in 2005 as one of the leads on Fox's hit drama Prison Break.
