Ever since cult hit Friday Night Lights ended its run on television, fans have been clamoring for the characters to hit the big screen. Star Connie Britton is one of those fans.

Connie Britton made several cross-country trips from Los Angeles to New York in order to complete filming on Edward Burns' festive new film The Fitzgerald Family Christmas because the actress feels she owes her pal her career.

The pair has been close friends ever since Burns cast Britton as his sister-in-law in his directorial debut The Brothers McMullen in 1995, and she insists it was a pivotal turning point in her life.

The Maroon 5 frontman, who also appears on "The Voice," is poised to join the cast of "Glee" producer Ryan Murphy's creepy drama for its upcoming second season.

I normally can't stand TV's big awards show; it seems like the same people and series get nominated all the time, with the occasional "why did that get nominated at all?" head-scratcher for variety. Sebastian Gutierrez is known for being the screenwriter of films like "Snakes On a Plane," "Gothika," and "The Eye," but for his new film "Women in Trouble" he seemed to take a turn from big action films to an independent character piece.
