Teri Hatcher has hit out at the producers of Desperate Housewives for axing her on-screen daughter from the show. The actress was devastated when she discovered Andrea Bowen would not be a part of the regular cast for the next season of the hit show.

In the finale, which aired on Sunday, the cast was transported five years into the future - and Bowen's character Julie was revealed to be a student at Princeton University.

As a result, the character will be absent from the next season of the show - and Hatcher thinks that is a mistake.

Lifetime explores the world of teen love, sex and gossip in the Lifetime Original Movie "Girl, Positive," the story of Rachel, a high school senior who fears she may be infected with HIV and must come to terms with the life-altering news.

The telefilm stars Andrea Bowen as Rachel and Jennie Garth as a teacher in Rachel's school who has been secretly living with the virus for years. S. Epatha Merkerson also stars in the movie as an AIDS clinic worker.

Desperate Housewives star Andrea Bowen is set to play a student who contracts HIV in a gritty new TV movie. The actress, who plays the daughter of Teri Hatcher's character on the hit TV show, will star in the drama "Consequences," which will air on Lifetime this summer.

Jennie Garth will also appear in the film - as a teacher who befriends Bowen's character after she discovers she has had unprotected sex with a HIV carrier, played by Erik Von Detten.
