"As Time Goes By" Ingrid Bergman's legend grows and grows. Miss Bergman came to America at the invitation of David Selznick and whose guidance made her one of the greatest movie stars of her era. Ingrid Bergman's great performances include "Notorious" "Spellbound" "The Bells of St. Mary's" "For Whom The Bells Toll" but Bergman's most famous film is "Cadablance" Ingrid Bergman worked with many great stars such as Gregory Peck, Cary Grant, Goldie Hawn, Lauren Bacall, Albert Finney, Bing Crosby, Humphrey Bogart, Gary Cooper, Lana Turner, Susan Hayward, Anthony Quinn, Walter Matthau, et al. Miss Bergman was a 3 time Oscar Winner beloved by the Academy for her Integrity and was welcomed back in 1959 by a thunderous standing ovation by her peers after having been banned from the USA in a scandal that now seems ridiculous to even mention: Asked years later by a reporter what Bergman had done she simply replied "I Had A Baby". Ms. Bergman was close friends to Cary Grant and many other top stars such as Jennifer Jones. Susan Hayward claimed Bergman was "Her favorite actress". And Lucille Ball paid her the ultimate compliment: In an episode of her TV show, one person remarks that Ball's 'Lucy Carter' looks like Lucille Ball' The Lucy Carter character replies "possibly so but when I was younger I was Beautiful and I looked like Ingrid Bergman" Ingrid Bergman in my opinion was one of Hollywood's greatest actresses, greatest stars. | ||
