October 24th, 2013 5:00pm EDT
Morena Baccarin
"Homeland" actress Morena Baccarin and her director/producer husband Austin Chick welcomed their first child, a son, on Tuesday.

The star gave birth to Julius at the Glendale Adventist Medical Center in California. She issued a statement to People magazine, thanking her doctor for the successful delivery.

She said: "I'm so happy I was able to deliver with Dr. Wu. Breech delivery is a dying art and he gave me the birth experience I wanted."

When babies are not positioned with their head near the birth canal, doctors often recommend a Cesarean section.

Baccarin and Chick wed in 2011. Mean...

2013 SAG Awards Fashion: Black, Navy Blue & Neutral Gowns Dominate

January 28th, 2013 9:19am EST
Jaimie Alexander
As we inch closer to the Academy Awards, tons of stars celebrated themselves at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday night.

Jaimie Alexander of "The Last Stand" (above) was one of the few celebs who showed some skin on the red carpet in a low-cut black Marc Bouwer gown. Most opted for more conservative ensembles in black, navy blue, and other neutrals.

A handful stood out in bright colorful gowns, including Jessica Chastain and Kaley Cuoco in bright red and Lea Michele in a bright pink dress.

Jennifer Garner, whose husband Ben Affleck is earning accolades for "Argo," looked ele...

Red, white and black were some of the more popular choices on the red carpet, with stars such as Zooey Deschanel, Jennifer Garner, Claire Danes, Marion Cotillard and Jennifer Lawrence opting for crimson gowns.

Hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey wore black and white, and Eva Longoria looked very leggy in a black gown with a slit up the thigh. Salma Hayek also stunned in a strapless black dress that showed off her curvy figure. Rachel Weisz wore black with a sheer polka dot skirt and her best accessor...

Fashion Fails: Award Season Begins - Fails At People's Choice

Olivia Munn
It's Fashion Fail Time! That means we take a break from letting you know how good all of your favorite stars look to show the other side of fashion: the fails! Today we have a selection from the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards.

Olivia Munn wore this frumpy, unflattering dress to the awards show - and she was presenting an award, so you would figure she'd try to look dazzling as usual.

We love the lower half of Kristin Kreuk's gown, but the top is just nasty.

Ellen Pompeo wore this gown with a championship belt.

Morena Baccarin wore this overly-long pantsuit and stud...

Morena Baccarin Laments Turning Down 'IASIP' Transsexual Role

Morena Baccarin
Homeland and Stargate SG-1 star Morena Baccarin had to give up her role as a male-to-female transsexual in cult comedy series It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia after landing another TV job.

The sexy actress played the quirky character in the show's pilot but had already moved on when it was picked up by bosses at cable channel FX.

She tells TV Guide magazine, "It was a lot of fun and we went crazy with it (character). The biggest research was what to put in my pants to make it (penis) look real.

"After the show got officially picked up, I was working on another project and couldn't do...

Vibrant Yellow Gowns Dominate 2012 Emmy Fashion - See Tons Of Photos!

Julie Bowen
The red carpet was full of bright colors at the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night, but yellow was the most popular. "Modern Family" star Julie Bowen, winner of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, looked oustanding in a strapless canary yellow gown.

"Homeland" winner Claire Danes, who is several months pregnant, also opted for a strapless yellow dress that was (obviously) more loose fitting than Julie's.

"Game Change" winner Julianne Moore picked a more conservative yellow gown with long sleeves, a higher neckline and a billowing skirt.

2012 Golden Globes Fashion: Who Rocked The Red Carpet & Who Didn't?

January 16th, 2012 9:30am EST
2012 Golden Globes fashion
The Golden Globes are the first big awards show of the season, and the stars came out in colorful ensembles to attend one of Hollywood's most prestigious events leading up to the Academy Awards.

There were very few fashion missteps at this year's event. "Homeland" actress Morena Baccarin wore a daring black dress that showed quite a bit of cleavage (is that appropriate?), while "Ringer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar took a chance with a blue and white tie-dyed gown (too bohemian?).

There wasn't a lot of flash on the red carpet. Few stars wore sequins (Laura Dern, Madonna, Diane Lane and did)...

The 11 Best From 2011

December 31st, 2011 11:00am EST
Southland
2011 was a fantastic year for entertainment. Here are my eleven favorite things from the year that's about to wrap, in chronological order...

1. Southland, TNT

(Season 3 began January 4)

I have to admit that I didn't keep up with TNT's gritty Los Angeles cop drama as much as I would have liked; it fell victim to sharing Tuesday nights with three other shows on my watch list. Yet when I did find time to catch it, I was no less than impressed every time.

There's been talk about the show's TV-MA content (allegedly the reason that NBC axed it), but the real talking point should be the st...

Fall Preview: 'Homeland'

October 2nd, 2011 1:32pm EDT
Homeland
For those of you who want really smart TV: watch Showtime's Homeland tonight. You'll thank me later.

Homeland features the underrated Damian Lewis - proving his stellar work in NBC's Life was the rule and not the exception - as Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody, rescued from Iraq after eight years missing. I always felt like I couldn't say enough about Lewis when Life was on, and I feel that way about his performance here. There's something in his eyes that allows you to read remarkable depth of character, yet looking into them you really can't tell if he's good, evil or if he even knows. ...

'V' Recap: 2x01 - 'Red Rain' Brings The Drama And Keeps It Coming

“V” returned last night, to my everlasting joy and entertainment. In case you missed season one, let me give you a brief recap: in this adaptation of a mid-80s TV series, reptilian aliens calling themselves Visitors come to Earth, looking like humans. They seem helpful, sweet and peaceful, but a small section of resistance fighters (lead by Elizabeth Mitchell, best known as Juliet from Lost) band together to take out the aliens and keep Earth safe.

When we last left our valiant alien fighters, they had wiped out Anna’s unborn army of reptilian Visitors and Anna retaliated by turning the ...

Casting Call: Who Should Be The 'New Wonder Woman'

The Next Wonder Woman
Any time a movie or TV comic book adaptation is announced, the internet becomes instantly abuzz with casting ideas, and when it comes to a character as iconic as Princess Diana of Themiscyra, those opinions are STRONG!

David E. Kelley’s new "Wonder Woman" show (presumably designed to fill the gap Clark Kent will leave when he finally becomes Superman at the end of this final season of "Smallville") is the latest attempt to bring live action resurrection to comics’ pre-eminent superheroine. So who can fill the red and white boots so memorably worn by Lynda Carter in the 1970s? Here are a fe...

V is almost finished with its first season run. The finale runs next Tuesday, and that will also be around the time that ABC announces what shows it plans to drop or renew. Right now V could go either way, but personally I would suggest they give the show another season. ABC will likely drop their other sci-fi Flashforward, which turned out to be more of a disappointment than expected, and it would be a shame to lose both of these shows without giving one of them a chance. V has picked up the pace in the past few weeks and it definitely has potential. With the plight of humanity looking mor...

V Recap: 'Heretic's Fork'

V Recap
So now the big secret about Valerie's pregnancy is out, and the V's are not happy. Anna looks scarier than usual when she calls the leaders of all the other ships and tells them the baby must be found. Apparently she thinks if humans know about the breeding, they can start specifically breeding hybrids to match the V's off. Does that mean hybrids could even be dangerous enough? And it's just a baby, unless it grows really fast. Is this the lizard version of the Twilight baby? It seems so because Anna's little soldier babies might be ready to hunt down some human meat. Run, Valerie, run!

Previously on V, Ryan's girlfriend figured out he's not who he said he is, Tyler found out he may not be his father's son after all, and Father Hotness asked Chad Decker to not be such a Machiavellian jerk. John May turned out to be Sam Anders (Michael Trucco from Battlestar Galactica), Anna gave birth to creepy soldier egg babies, and Ryan apparently killed him. Or not? Who knows.

Erica swears up and down that she was only with Tyler's father, so she has no idea how the DNA doesn't match, and this sounds like a fun mystery they'll hopefully answer soon. Could he be the first V-Human hybri...

V's back after an incredibly long hiatus, which means they are required to cram as much information into the 'previously' section as they can. Granted ABC only showed four episodes of the show before taking a four month break, but that's still a great deal of plot to cover. Basically, the Visitors arrive on Earth in the form of gorgeous, peace-loving humanoids. They cure illnesses and solve wars, they say they want to help protect humanity, and of course this means they are evil, evil, evil. We were introduced to FBI Agent Erica Evans, played by the marvelous Elizabeth Mitchell, as she trie...

Golden Globes Fashion 2010 - The Ladies

Golden Globes Fashion 2010
Many of the ladies sizzled on the red carpet at last night's Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif. Purple was a major pick of the evening, as Sandra Bullock, Fergie, Heidi Klum and Jane Krakowski demonstrated.

As usual black was a very popular color, and stars like Jennifer Aniston, Mariah Carey, Halle Berry, Heather Graham, Vera Farmiga and Penelope Cruz looked fab.

There wasn't a lot of bad fashion, although Tina Fey's billowing skirt was a bit too much, and Rita Wilson's flower pattern dress was simply too floral.

What did you think of last night's red carpet fashion? Who...

ABC's "V" is finally here, one of the most highly anticipated shows of the season, and it is coming out strong. The show is a remake of a sci-fi miniseries that lost a great deal of its popularity once it turned into a regular TV show. With the success of shows like "Lost," "Fringe," "Heroes," "Battlestar Galactica" and "X-Files," sci-fi is steadily becoming worth investing in by the bigger networks.

Starting in the fall, ABC is releasing two new big sci-fi shows to the mainstream to see if we have a taste for it, and if you're any kind of sci-fi fan at all, these are the new shows you should be looking forward to.
