Horrible Bosses writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are set to direct the project.
The upcoming film will follow Rusty Griswold (Helms) and his strong-willed wife (Applegate), who has become disenchanted with her husband, as they set out to take their family on a road trip adventure, resembling one Rusty went on as a child with his sister and parents.

Christina Applegate Quits 'Up All Night' Due To Creative Differences
Christina Applegate is no longer interested in staying "Up All Night." The actress is quitting the NBC sitcom and made the announcement official on Friday by releasing a statement to Deadline.com.
She wrote, "It's been a great experience working on Up All Night, but the show has taken a different creative direction and I decided it was best for me to move on to other endeavors. I will miss the cast, producers and crew, and wish them the best always."

Celebrities Who Have Had Double Mastectomies
It's always shocking when a celebrity reveals he or she has battled a major health crisis. Angelina Jolie revealed last night in an article in The New York Times that she had a double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer.
Doctors told the actress she carried the "faulty" gene BRCA1 and had an 87 percent risk of developing the disease. Jolie's mother died at age 56 from ovarian cancer.
Last November, Sharon Osbourne told Hello! magazine that she voluntarily had a double mastectomy. The "America's Got Talent" star battled colon cancer in 2002, and it caused extreme stress for her rocker husb...

Christina Applegate: 'I Miss My Exquisite Breasts'
Christina Applegate has opened up about the emotional double mastectomy she underwent in 2008 after learning she was at a high risk of things getting much worse.
The Up All Night star was interviewed in the November issue of More magazine and she says that the news of her aggressive decision to prevent a recurrence of the disease leaked so quickly that she didn't have a chance for it to really set in right away.
"The good thing is that we got the information out," she says. "But talking about the facts of the disease, I didn't have to see what was going on with me."

'Anchorman 2' News: Christina Applegate Is Back, Baby!
Ever since the first teaser for "Anchorman 2" dropped like a comedy A-bomb on the world two weeks ago, fans have been asking one question: Whither Veronica Corningstone? Okay, so most of them weren't using the word "whither," but still, while it was great to see Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner in their polyester suits again, the absence of Christina Applegate was glaring.
Well, good news: According to Celebuzz, Applegate's representatives have confirmed that she will indeed be returning as the number one woman in broadcast news, Veronica Corningstone.

'Anchorman 2' Teaser Trailers Hit The Web
The Channel 4 news team is back! Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Champ Kind (David Koechner), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) have set the stage for the 2013 return of Anchorman in a pair of funny teaser trailers.
No word on if Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) will return, as she's nowhere to be seen. In fact, no footage from the film is in the trailers - just some hilarious dialogue as part of the film's announcement.
While the first teaser is being aired before The Dictator, a second has already hit the web with alternate lines - we wouldn't be surpr...

Reflecting With The Ladies Of 'In Plain Sight'
As USA's In Plain Sight comes to an end, I joined the cast members at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles to celebrate the series.

'Up All Night' Recap: 'The Proposals'
When I first saw in the previews for the "Up All Night" season finale that Kevin returns to propose to Ava, which prompts Chris to RE-propose to Reagan, I let out an audible groan. However, by the end of "The Proposals," I may have let out an audible sniffle or two. And there may have been something in my eye, causing it to leak fluid. Let's get this straight: I WAS NOT CRYING. But I will admit that, for a somewhat flawed episode, it managed to end on a truly sweet note that acted as an antidote to my elevated levels of cynicism.

Luke Wilson is eager to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy sequel, despite his character losing both arms in the original movie.

'Up All Night' Recap: 'Baby Fever'
Just as I was starting to think that Will Arnett might never again be objectified for my viewing pleasure, the "Up All Night" writers came to the rescue! This week, we got to see Chris in the tub, in a towel and in his undies. And even though it was only a C-grade episode as a whole, I'm grading this one on a curve since it featured Arnett 1) in various states of undress and 2) uttering a classic Gob-ism.
The problem with this episode was that each of the three main characters had a separate storyline, and while there were times when they meshed to make some good moments (Chris and Reaga...

'Up All Night' Recap: 'Couple Friends'
Although “Up All Night” took a bit of a wrong turn with last week’s “New Boss,” it quickly got back on track with this Thursday's "Couple Friends," which finds the Brinkleys on the hunt for that titular twosome they can actually tolerate.
It's established in the cold open (in which Reagan and Chris futilely try to pump themselves up to go dubstepping with some hipster pals) that the Brinkleys are in desperate need of another age-appropriate couple to hang out with. Obviously, Gene and Terry are not an option. But it's while at that very boring duo's house for a neighborhood crime watch ...

'Up All Night' Recap: 'New Boss'
After a string of really well-written episodes (including last week’s “First Birthday,” which must have been so good that I forgot to recap it), “Up All Night” hit a snag with last night’s “New Boss.” While there were some funny moments – mostly thanks to Will Arnett’s awkward attempts at machismo – the story was all over the place and never managed to really go anywhere.
The first red flag signaling that this is a poorly scripted episode is the announcement that Kevin (Jason Lee) moved to Idaho for a new job – an important tidbit that was revealed so matter-of-factly that I started to w...

'Up All Night' Recap: 'Travel Day'
People, “Up All Night” has definitely found a groove. When it first joined NBC’s Thursday night lineup, I was a little cranky about it because it came at the expense of “Community.” And although I still miss “Community” something fierce, I’ve stopped expecting “Up All Night” to fill that show’s ridiculously big clown shoes, and just focus on its solid writing, cute-as-hell baby and charismatic cast. And then of course there’s Will Arnett. I’ve gone back and forth on this issue, but I think I’ve finally made a decision: he’s sexier than Joel McHale. There, I’ve said it. It’s official. Is h...

I’m starting to notice something about “Up All Night.” None of the plots are terribly clever, yet it manages to be inoffensive at worst and laugh-out-loud funny at best. How does that work? Is it great writing, or is it the actors who bring that writing to life? After seeing last night’s episode, I’m still not completely sure. Even though the writers came up with one of this series’ most clichéd plots, there were a lot of really well-written moments and hilarious quotes. And Will Arnett, Christina Applegate, Maya Rudolph and Jason Lee did a fantastic job of bringing the funny, making this ...

“Up All Night” continued its trend of casting great guest stars (Molly Shannon, Megan Mullally and, coming soon, The Fonz!) this week by bringing Dean Winters in to play Chris’s competitive brother, Casey. Since Will Arnett is especially delightful in “Look at me, baby, I’m a real man” mode, giving Chris a brother who can play that role just as well, while feeding Chris’s insecurities was a great move by the show’s writers.

'Up All Night' Recap: 'New Year's Eve'
“Up All Night” debuted in its Thursday night post-“Office” slot and proved what we kind of all already knew: it’s more than a worthy replacement for the abysmal “Whitney,” but not nearly good enough to make up for the loss of “Community.” That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped liking the show. I’ll happily eat the hamburger, but I’m still gonna be pissed that the filet mignon in unicorn sauce was taken off the menu. Aaaaanyway…this is the last time I’ll whip out the “Community” comparisons. It’s not really fair. Well, unless it’s being compared to “Parks and Recreation,” which is just as brilliant....

Sadly, I haven’t caught last week’s pick yet: “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” However I did have the misfortune of watching the David Gordon Green comedy “The Sitter,” which turned out to be a complete dud. If you haven’t already read my review, give it a look to find out why I think Jonah Hill deserves better.

'Up All Night' Recap: 'First Christmas'
This week, “Up All Night” rolled out its first Christmas episode. In the context of the series, and compared to sitcom Christmas episodes in general, it was a success.
When Chris and Reagan stroll Amy by Gene and Terry’s pimped-out “Winter Wonderland” yard display, the adorable toddler lights up like Rudolph’s nose. (The reindeer, not Maya.) Upon seeing this, Reagan decides to deck her own halls to make Amy happy, despite her aversion to overblown holiday decorations. Happy 40th Birthday Christina Applegate
Not only is she gorgeous, hilarious and down to Earth - Christina Applegate looks damn good for turning the big 40 today! Best known for playing Kelly Bundy, the dumb blonde, on the FOX sitcom Married...with Children, Christina has surpassed any stereotype she may have earned from that role and turned her career into a very successful one. Growing up in Hollywood with a producer father and an actress mother definitely helped out her career but Christina made a name for herself, independent from her parents. Although she did make her television debut with her mother on Days of Our Lives, her...

Since the news broke that the Schmitties at NBC decided to handle the return of “30 Rock” by pulling “Community” (aka the best show on TV) from its mid-season lineup, a lot of anger has been directed (deservedly) at “Whitney,” which will get a move to Wednesday instead of a much-needed mercy killing, and (not-so-deservedly) "Up All Night," which will take the Thursday, 9:30 pm timeslot. Although I’m pretty irritated about the “Community” debacle, my fondness for “Up All Night” (and especially my fondness for Will Arnett) has led me to defend it to the many who hate it. So, I was really hopi...

Since my only real complaint about "Up All Night" has been that Ava's storylines often feel like they're part of a completely different show (a problem that the show has been gradually fixing), I have to give two big thumbs up to this week's episode for how it seamlessly integrates Ava into Chris and Reagan's story. Or maybe it's the other way around. Yes, "First Night Away" is also the first night that Maya Rudolph gets to be the star, while Will Arnett and Christina Applegate stand just on the edge of the spotlight, looking cute and making out a lot. And you know what? I'm surprisingly fi...

As its title suggests, the latest episode of "Up All Night" takes us back 18 months to the events surrounding little Amy Brinkley's introduction to the world. The poop jokes are in place, as is the requisite birthing video-viewing-turns-to-horror scene. As an episode of a comedy series, it's not the strongest installment, but as a device to make viewers care more about the characters and their relationships, it works quite well. And shucks, it's just sweet.
"Birth" also helps to paint Ava in a more sympathetic light. Sure, she's a self-obsessed freak, but she's also a lost little girl ev...

'Up All Night' Recap: 'Mr. Bob's Toddler Kaleidoscope'
Even though the latest episode of "Up All Night" was filmed well before last week's recap, it somehow managed to address many of the issues I felt were keeping the show from being as good as it could be. As a result, this week's episode is the strongest so far.
Last week, I suggested that "Up All Night" needed to focus more on Chris and Reagan's relationships—with each other and with their baby—and dial back Ava's over-the-top storylines so that they mesh better with the rest of the show. "Mr. Bob's Toddler Kaleidoscope" does just that by giving Reagan and Ava storylines that mirror eac...

'Up All Night' Recap: 'New Car'
Like all new parents, Chris and Reagan Brinkley have been dealing with a lot of changes—both as a couple and as individuals. So far, "Up All Night" has focused on the resulting inner turmoil, like the fear of no longer being cool, the struggle to keep passion alive in their relationship, and just the general panic that comes with the responsibility of caring for a tiny human being. This week's episode steers away from the emotional and into the superficial, as Chris tries to convince Reagan to give up her other baby, a sweet (and impractical) BMW convertible.

NBC Cancels 'Playboy Club,' Gives Full Season Pickups To 'Up All Night' & 'Whitney'
NBC has canceled the first show of the 2011 season: "The Playboy Club" is kaput. On Monday night the series attracted only 3.4 million viewers. The show centered on the bunnies who worked at the famous 1960s hotspot and involved the murder of a mob boss.
On the flip side, NBC has picked up the new comedies "Up All Night" and "Whitney" for the remainder of the 2011-12 season.
