Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin is searching for a brand new line-up for the all-girl group.

The original act formed in 1995 as a burlesque dance troupe, before going on to international success with stars including Nicole Scherzinger and Kimberly Wyatt in the formation. Scherzinger left the group to go solo in 2009 and choreographer Antin unveiled a new set of members last year.

Now, Antin is on the search again and is holding auditions to create a completely new Pussycat Dolls five-piece.

Nicole Scherzinger has cast doubt on the future of the Pussycat Dolls by insisting she is working on her solo album and doesn't know "what's going on with" the girl group.

The Pussycat Dolls have put rumors of a split to rest after the group's founder Robin Antin revealed the members are working on their third album together.

The "Don't Cha" hitmakers have long been dogged by rumors of tension between the members and singer Ashley Roberts reportedly broke down in front of fans and sobbed about the band's break-up last week.

During their recent trip to London, Roberts allegedly sobbed, "This is the last time we'll be in the U.K. as a band. We've broken up. We're sorry."

The singer will play the lead role in Burlesque, a musical about a small-town girl who lands a job dancing in a strip club while seeking fame and fortune in Los Angeles.

The project will be directed by actor/filmmaker Steve Antin, brother of choreographer Robin Antin, who founded the burlesque troupe-turned-girl band The Pussycat Dolls.

Burlesque will begin shooting later this year, reports Variety.com.
