June 12th, 2013 3:11am EDT
Ray Winstone
Movie hardman Ray Winstone banned his actress daughter Jaime from going on safari while filming in South Africa as he was terrified she would be eaten by lions.

The 28-year-old Brit joined the cast of black comedy Mad Dogs as female convict Mercedes, but was forbidden from joining her cast mates on trips into the wild to spot exotic animals because of her father's fears.

She reveals, "My dad has this nightmare that haunts him: he watches as his family are eaten by lions. Seriously, it's very real to him and he forbids any Winstone to go on safari or be near any dangerous animals.

"My dad...

Review: 'Snow White And The Huntsman' Takes Itself Too Seriously

June 1st, 2012 1:30pm EDT
Snow White and the Huntsman
Okay folks, 'Snow White' is back and this time she's mad as hell and ready to kick some butt.

First off, I must ask, did we really need two films this year about Miss White? Personally, I think it was one was too many.

In any case, 'Snow White and the Huntsman' directed by Rupert Sanders, stars Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron, as the super evil Queen, Ravenna and Chris Hemsworth as the hunky Huntsman.

We all know the story, so I'll be brief...

Ravenna feeds on the souls of virgins in order to maintain her youthful glow (guess she never heard about Botox). After she kills...

Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure you would never associate this extraordinary filmmaker with a children's fantasy film, shot in 3D and set in Paris in the 1930's. However, with Scorsese's newest film 'Hugo' that's about to change.

'Hugo', directed by Martin Scorsese, is based on the illustrated bestselling novel, The Invention of Hug...

Jaime Winstone has filmed a documentary for the U.K.'s BBC Three channel to highlight the spread of human papillomavirus (HPV) and advise how to prevent it.

The Made in Dagenham star, 25, decided to get involved in the program, titled "Is Oral Sex Safe?," and learn about the various types of cancer after losing a close pal to the disease.

Ray Winstone Approves Of His Daughter's Nude Scenes

November 29th, 2008 6:00pm EST
Ray Winstone
British hardman Ray Winstone has no problem watching his actress daughter Jaime's on screen love scenes - because he's convinced he has much more offensive roles in his own back catalogue.

The Sexy Beast star has yet to see his daughter's latest movie Donkey Punch - in which she can be seen cavorting naked on screen - but he insists he can't wait to watch it. And Winstone is certain he won't cringe when he sees Jaime's steamy romp - because he has played his own fair share of despicable characters.

He says, "She's 23. She's not a kid anymore. It's her work and of course I want t...

After 19 Years, 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' Phenomenally Exhumes Venerated Roots

May 22nd, 2008 11:16am EDT
Indiana Jones
(HollywoodChicago.com) – After such a long respite from the beloved film progression, I was initially just as skittish about seeing Harrison Ford back in the Indy saddle as I was watching Sylvester Stallone back in the ring in “Rocky Balboa” in his 2006 comeback and then again in 2008 in his “Rambo” return.

Ultimately, though, I had faith in director Steven Spielberg not to royally torpedo the monolithically anticipated “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” which resurrects the Chicago-born, 65-year-old Harrison Ford as one of my favorite film characters of all time.

Ray Winstone
British actor Ray Winstone once attempted to save a woman from a violent argument with her boyfriend - but was abused for helping out. The 51-year-old Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull star stepped in to defend a woman who was being assaulted by her boyfriend.

But the star - who is famed for his hard-man movie roles - was shocked by her response.

He recalls, "When I was 18, I remember seeing a fella smashing the life out of a girl. I jumped on him, pulled him off and said, 'What do you think you're doing? You're going to kill her.' The girl turns around, punches m...

January 13th, 2008 1:30pm EST
Ray Winstone
Beowulf star Ray Winstone has turned down a part in popular British soap opera Eastenders - because he is too young to play the role offered. The long-running television program is currently casting for the villainous character Archie Mitchell, dad to Ronnie, who is played by actress Samantha Janus.

But 50-year-old Winstone - who is friends with Janus - has rejected the producers' request, insisting he is too young to take on the part.

He jokes, "I'll play her fella (love interest) but I'm not playing her dad."

An insider at the BBC says, "We want to get a British acting ico...

Indiana Jones and the Temple of AARP (Let's Leave Indy in Retirement)

Let's get this out of the way before I even begin to write about anything else: Harrison Ford is 64 years old. That's beyond the aged cheese that is Bruce Willis. We're talking Sly Stallone's territory. Let's examine Stallone's recent career ch...

Tim Roth credits Francis Ford Coppola and fellow Brit Ray Winstone with dragging him out of acting retirement and back onto the big screen. The Pulp Fiction star walked away from his movie career after growing bored with acting.

But he returns in Coppola's new movie Youth Without Youth - after the director inspired him.

Roth tells the New York Daily News, "I'm interested in acting again. I lost my interest for a long time. I got bored. I'd spoken to Ray Winstone about it. It happened to him. He gave up acting years and years ago. He quit and went back to work in whatever he was do...

Ray Winstone: 'Beowulf Was Most Demanding Role'

November 16th, 2007 10:16am EST
Ray Winstone
Hard-man actor Ray Winstone has branded his role in new movie Beowulf the most grueling of his career. The 50-year-old star, who plays the eponymous hero in the CGI adventure, even broke bones while shooting the epic tale.

He says, "It was the most physical job I have done in my life. I was on wires, running up walls and spinning. You are tearing up a metal frame, which represents the dragon or pounding a stuntman. I would go home every night and relax in a hot bath of Radox."

"I broke two or three ribs. I thought I was Errol Flynn. I swung in to get the dragon's heart and it wa...

Angelina Jolie Shocked By 'Beowulf' Violence And Rating

November 12th, 2007 10:22am EST
Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie was shocked by the amount of violence in her new movie Beowulf - and can't believe it can be seen by 12-year-olds. The 32-year-old beauty is in awe of Beowulf's special effects, but insists she won't be letting her young children see it because it would be too upsetting.

And she is surprised the movie has been given a 12A certificate in the U.K., allowing children aged 12 to 15 to see the movie if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Speaking at the European premiere of the film in London on Sunday, she says, "It's remarkable it has the rating it has. It's quite an ...

Ray Winstone: 'Jolie Made Me Feel Sexy'

November 12th, 2007 10:09am EST
Ray Winstone
Actor Ray Winstone insists his Beowulf co-star Angelina Jolie made him feel sexy. The stocky actor was digitally enhanced to look like a muscular, six-foot tall warrior for the role - but he insists that performing alongside the Tomb Raider beauty was the key to his increased self-confidence.

The 50-year-old says, "The difference is Angelina didn't need (enhancement) and I did. (But) it's not hard to be sexy when you're standing in front of Angelina Jolie or Robin (Wright Penn) to be honest with you - two of the most beautiful women in the world and two of the finest actors in the wor...

Star Felt Silly Dancing In 'Beowulf' Animation Wet Suit

November 5th, 2007 9:07am EST
British tough guy Ray Winstone felt ridiculous playing ancient hero Beowulf in the animated adaptation of the epic poem because his day started with a silly jig while he was dressed in "a wet suit."

The star loved the fact that his animated likeness was a strapping, toned Viking, but hated having to get into character. Every day, computer experts had to turn Winstone into a three-dimensional, animated character by transferring nodules attached to a black one-piece suit into a digital image.

Winstone explains, "I'm standing there in this wet suit with this crash helmet thing on...
