Nevertheless, Wilson admits he had some difficulty remembering all the hi-tech information when camera's started rolling, so he enlisted a few tricks he picked up on the set of 2001's Zoolander to prompt him throughout the troublesome scene...

Review: 'The Internship' An Unexpected Surprise And Really Fun Film

June 8th, 2013 8:25am EDT
The Internship
I was really expecting not to like this film.  I thought it would be the same old Vince Vaughn comedy that I've seen hundreds of times before and frankly I wasn't all that crazy about going.

So I was really surprised, when I found myself laughing aloud.  'The Internship' is a really funny, clever and even a touching film; filled with endearing characters and a theme that everyone (no matter what your age) will be able to relate to. It's never too late to go after your dreams, unless, of course, you're 80 years old and want to be an astronaut or prima ballerina.

But that's not the case in...

5 Best Movies On The Humorous Side Of Child Endangerment

December 9th, 2011 10:00am EST
The Sitter Poster
Why do we love R-rated comedy? Answer: The swearing is better. This sex is more comical. The shenanigans are more extreme. What makes any R-rated comedy better? Answer: Children.

The addition of children to any hilarious movie only makes that movie more hilarious. Having kids along for the ride takes all the things we love about these films and intensifies them. Having a kid in the car during a chase scene makes the danger more real and more frightening (hence the title of this column). Swearing, the lifeblood of any R-rated comedy, seems all the more taboo when it’s done in front of kids....

Gabriel Macht: The Smartest Actor On Television

Suits
Gabriel Macht is a genius.

It isn't in the conventional sense. Measuring him by his IQ - whatever that may be - wouldn't do him justice. Neither would examining his lengthy filmography of over twenty years. Yet spend a few minutes in his company, and it becomes quickly apparent that he is brilliant. It's in his verbal acuity, which would make many professional writers envious. It's in the thought he gives to even the most casual of conversations. He's just plain smarter than you or me.

He's not the type to need to prove that to anyone. Yet with the success of USA Network's original...

Now the Mater heavy sequel "Cars 2" is hitting DVD and Blu-ray (streets Nov. 1 from Disney Home Entertainment) - featuring the sassy truck and best friend McQueen heading for Japan and Europe for ...

'Hall Pass' Blu-Ray Doesn't Make The Grade

Hall Pass
Starting today's cavalcade of reviews of recent home releases is the New Line comedy Hall Pass, which recently bowed in an "extended cut" Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack. Here's my review.

The Movie

If you saw the commercials, you pretty much got the gist of Hall Pass. Yes, it's another comedy about some guys (in this case, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis) who go out and get themselves into R-rated trouble. I thought there were too many of these movies before this, and having watched this, I still hold to that opinion.

There are a few things going for it, namely that there's a decent cast he...

"Cars 2" a Cynical Clunker

June 26th, 2011 11:19am EDT
Cars 2
For the last five years, Pixar has been on quite a roll, churning out one reliably solid animated film every summer. The last four have won Oscars for Best Animated Feature, and the last three (WALL-E, Up, and Toy Story 3) are, in my mind, stone cold classics. This winning streak and reputation for quality are what make Pixar's latest, "Cars 2," not just disappointing, but puzzling.

The hero of the first "Cars" film, a race car voiced by Owen Wilson, returns to Radiator Springs to spend some time with his best friend Mater, aka Larry the Cable Guy. If there's any time left over, he might ...

Owen Wilson returns as the voice of Lightning McQueen in Cars 2. Unfortunately, since the original Cars, Paul Newman passed away. He was the voice of Doc, and Doc is now gone from the world of Radiator Springs. Wilson remembered his costar fondly while promoting the sequel.

“On the first one I did get to work one day with Paul Newman,” Wilson said. “We went to New York and got to record with him and it was great. He actually had some questions about, 'I don't know if this would really...' because he was so knowledgeable about racing. And then John [Lasseter] took what he was saying and wen...

Cars 2
By Joan Alperin Schwartz: 'Cars 2' is the new 3D wonder from director John Lasseter. John and his crew at Pixar have once again proven why they are the best at what they do.

To really enjoy this film, you have to put aside any ideas that cars can't talk, can't have friends and girlfriends, can't experience human emotions and can't be killer spies. (Something the other half of Two Jews On Film, John my husband, wasn't able to do).

Anyway, the story goes like this...Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is the snazzy, red, highly acclaimed racing car. After winning four Pisto...
