| john wayne has to be the greatest actors of all times. There will never be anyone who can act as could as he. He did his acting because of the passion he had for it, these actors now only want to act just for money and publicity. What a shame we don't have the great actors of yesteryear still around acting. | ||

If Marilyn Mornoe is the most famous movie star of all time, likely the most famous Male Star would be John Wayne. John Wayne made people feel great seeing his movies. One always knew what to expect and yet John Wayne- a much better actor than ever given credit for- always made films Interesting. The 'aw shucks" manner was an act and his Directors noted how hard he worked on his craft working on scenes for hours to get them right. And he did it sans the gore and blood in today's Films. If audiences loved John Wayre movies, women stars liked working with him even if their roles might not be as standout as Wayne's. The exposure to a John Wayne hit movie was a career plus for Susan Hayward, Marlene Dietrich, Lana Turner, Ann Margret, Maureen O'Hara, Lauren Bacall, and and just about every top rank female star of his era. He spoofed his image in a one of Lucille Ball's "I Love Lucy". John Wayne worked with many top Directors such as George Stevens, William Wellman et etc, and possibly his greatest collaboration was with John Ford for whom he made such classics as "Stagecoach" "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" the masterful "The Searchers", "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" et al. John Wayne teamed with Katharine Hepburn in "Rooster Cogburn" was a sequel to his tremendous hit in "True Grit" for which he won an Academy Award as Best Actor. John Wayne Airport in California is named after the Duke and he is remembered as a great star and very fine actor. | ||

| i absolutley love john wayne and everything that he stood for. he was not only a a great actor but a genuine person aswell. as for his movies, i own over 90 of his movies and am still collecting. my favorrite include, Mcklintock, rio bravo, rio lobo, north to alaska, sons of katie elder, the quiet man, the searchers, green beret, his early movies in black and white, and many many more. i even have a tatoo of him. i got into watching him when i was young with my grandpa and have been enjoying his movies ever since. i love it when they have Weekend with the Duke on TBS. i hope that i have given you enough info as to why i like john wayne or should i say Marrion Micheal Morrison. | ||

| John Wayne was one of the greatest actors and human beings this world has ever know. When he died it was like loosing my father all over again. I have quite a few of his movies and even have some collector plates of him. There will never be another like him. | ||
