Days after receiving his first Oscar nomination for his performance as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network, Jesse Eisenberg finally met the man behind status updates and poking on Saturday Night Live.

During the opening monologue, Eisenberg was interrupted by Andy Samberg's impression of Zuckerberg and the two compared tips on how to play the part. "I speak in short-clipped sentences and keep my head very still," Eisenberg said. Samberg said: "I wear this sweatshirt and then I say, 'I'm Mark Zuckerberg.'"

The real Zuckerberg soon crashed the party ("awk-berg" as Samberg...

'Hairspray 2' Canceled

June 2nd, 2010 11:47am EDT
Hairspray
Film bosses have scrapped plans to bring movie-musical Hairspray back for a sequel. Executives at the New Line studio commissioned the screenwriter behind the 2007 film, John Waters, to create a script for a follow-up, with plans to bring Zac Efron back to star in a second picture.

In December, Waters revealed he had completed the job, telling Australia's The Herald Sun, "They liked it. They paid me. That's the last I've heard of it... They asked me to write the treatment but I'm so obsessive I wrote every single thing that could happen to every character. It's different. You can't tell t...

With the coming of the Halloween season, Starpulse contributing writer Kris King is dedicating every day in October to watch a horror movie that has passed him by.

Sleepaway Camp (1983): It Has A Weirdly Surbersive Gay Vibe

"Sleepaway Camp" is a strange movie. In essence, it's nothing more than a cheap, by-the-numbers Friday the 13th knock-off, but while the two movies are identical in setting, time p...

Johnny Depp's Best & Worst Films - Do You Agree?

June 30th, 2009 9:36am EDT
Pirates of the Caribbean
The problem with an actor like Johnny Depp is finding movies in his history that aren't fantastic. Then you have to consider the movies that aren't that good, but that he was great in anyway (which covers basically everything else).

The truth is, this Kentucky-born actor is one of the best in his or anyone's generation, and he also is an accomplished producer, director, screenwriter, and yes, even has quite a set of singing pipes. Good thing he's just so unattractive or he might just be the perfect Hollywood hunk ... oh wait. He's gorgeous. Damn you, Johnny Depp!

Here's a look at so...

Celebrities Trying To Bring Back The Mustache

February 6th, 2009 11:51am EST
Robert Downey Jr.
Let's be honest, men's fashion isn't nearly as much fun as women's, especially when it comes to getting all gussied up in formal garb. For men, the pot can pretty much be boiled down to three basic variables: 1. Tie shape 2. To cummerbund or not to cummerbund and 3. Level of fashion bravado. So it is totally understandable for male celebrities to become jaded with the limited realm of prosaic male attire and seek other methods of adding a little snazzle dazzle to their personal senses of style.

Many men dabble in self-expression via varying facial hair patterns - a.k.a. "manscaping." ...

Spotlight On Movies That Became Musicals

August 28th, 2008 10:30am EDT
The Little Mermaid
Fans of movie musicals know that most of their favorites, like "Grease," "West Side Story," "The Sound of Music," and "Oklahoma!" were adapted from popular Broadway plays. However, the trend in recent years has been to flip that formula around by taking a big-screen hit and trying to turn it into a small-stage sensation.

Disney has had great success with its theatrical adaptations, starting in 1994 with the critically-acclaimed "Beauty and the Beast." The hits kept coming with stage productions of "The Lion King," "Mary Poppins," and, most recently, "The Little Mermaid."

Columbia Records is proud to announce the release of Coheed and Cambria's video for "Feathers," the second single off the band's new album, "No World For Tomorrow," and undoubtedly their catchiest tune to date. The Hitchcockian black and white video, is a dark comedy, directed by Marc Klasfeld (Gnarls Barkley, Foo Fighters, Bloodhound Gang) and focuses on a "perfect" 1950s American family who have a very naughty secret. "Feathers" star...

DVD Review: This Film is Not Yet Rated

January 18th, 2008 4:04pm EST
This Film is Not Yet Rated
One of the wonderful things about DVD is that it can be a catalyst for discovery.

I first heard about This Film is Not Yet Rated at the Nuart Theater in Los Angeles nearly 2 years ago. I missed it in its limited theater engagement but recently found a copy at a local DVD store. Documentaries, good documentaries, can be tricky to see in the theater if they are not mainstream or don't have a major studio behind them. Stalk your local Blockbuster or Best Buy is you must, but everyone, especially aspiring filmmakers, should see this film.

This Film is Not Yet Rated takes an analytical...
